    iCloud Set Up

Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices.

To enable iCloud on your Windows PC, first set up iCloud on your other devices, then install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows...

    From Here...

    Hi AnaMusic,

I do not have any other Apple devices, I have tried to set up iCloud because I was asked to join a Photo Stream, but it looks like I wont be able to join the Photo Stream because I do not have any Apple devices, is this a correct assumption ?

    Regards,

It kind of seems like Apple should have been clearer about this through iTunes, seeing as i have just purchased iMatch at £21.99 a year, I can only access iMatch directly through the iCloud (which it never explicitly stated through iMatch on iTunes.  Furthermore, i have to be able to log into iCloud through an Apple computer or Apple product.  Which it doesn't explicitly say until you try and log in; so being that I only have an iPod classic and therefore cannot log into iCloud I can't access iMatch which I have just purchased.

What an excellent system.  Thanks for being so backwards.

That's incorrect, you do not need iCloud membership to have iTunes Match, they are seperate services. Login to iTunes Match with the same ID you use for the iTunes Store.

    Hi CSound1:

If it's incorrect, could you please tell me how to log into it.  Because iTunes is telling me to log in through my iCloud account.

Either way i cannot access the information i have loaded onto iTunes match, and it is rather frustraiting as i have paid money for the service.

OR, if there is somewhere i can talk to a technical adviser promptly that would also be good.

To test whether or not you actually have an iCloud account go to www.icloud.com and try to login.

For iTunes Match you open iTunes and turn on Match (Store Menu) you do not need iCloud for iTunes Match.

agree with your opinion 100%, some people are so smart that they become stupid in the process....I have a valid apple ID but iCloud complains, "your ID is a valid Apple ID but it's not an iCloud account." So, when I go to download the iCloud file to set up iCloud on my computer, the file is about 45MB. I finally get the file downloaded and installed exactly the way Apple said to do it and then the software STILL complains that my Apple ID is not an iCloud account--with no further instructions about how to GET an iCloud account....you're correct, Apple has a long way to go before it's integrity reaches up to the level of 'amateur' regarding their software instructions being user friendly...

In simple terms then, you can not create a new iCloud account on a PC and an Apple ID is NOT an iCloud account.

Use a Mac or an iPhone etc to open the account, then (and only then) can you sign into it on a PC.

Well, thanks Apple, for a dumpster-load of pants software that's just wasted half a day of my time.

If your software is going to be this cretinous, why don't you go the whole hog and just call yourself 'Microsoft'?

Yes, pretty please, sarcastic Administrator, could you please, please, please tell me how to set up an iCloud account on my PC? My MacBook Pro is having open-heart surgery, and I really don't want to buy an iPhone just so I can access my files.

    Please?
