I ordered mine (16GB, Black - AT&T) about 5:30pm CDT (Central Daylight Time). I got a ship date of 2-3 weeks. if I had known, I would have set an alarm. I figured ordering on the first day, I'd be good. clearly, I was wrong. it says October 9th is when I'm supposed to receive it. it also still says processing. still have my $217.41 in my bank account, too.

any other October 9th ship daters? have anything besides processing?

I ordered my iPhone 5 16GB Black on 9/20 (I know, I know. late, but still a pre-order technically).  Currently, my order has stated "Processing items" ever since, and continues to do so at this moment.  I did however recieve an email from AT&T on 9/26, confirming my upgrade/2 year contract renewal.  *blank stare*

Haven't been dinged any pre-auths yet or been charged (Apple doesn't charge until it ships, from what the Rep told me an hour ago).  I'm being told that it won't ship for 3-4 weeks, with an estimated delivery date of 10/22 to 10/26.  ...  Argh.

Anyone else have the misfortune to have had to wait to "pre-order" until payday, and are wishing they'd just gone to the AT&T/Sprint/Verizon/Apple Store instead?

I'm concerned that if I cancel my order now & try to hit up the AT&T or Apple stores near to me, that they'll all be sold out, too.

I'm experiencing the same.  I ordered mine at 6:30pm thinking I was good on 9/14.  My status is still saying "processing".  You're not alone.

The rep told me that the stores get stock every night. She said "they're our retail stores and we have to have stock for them". I guess they don't have to have stock for their loyal customers who get up in the middle of the night to try and catch a 43 minute window of opportunity. She said you have to order between 10PM and 2AM and if an option comes up for in store pick up then that store has/will have stock the next day. However, if there's no option for in store pick up you don't go on a waiting list you just have to try again the next night.

What kind of crap answer is that?  I thought they were a tech giant that cared about its customers, but they can't be bothered with making sure ALL of their customer's get good customer service? It was bad enough not having enough ready for the launch, which they made people get up in the middle of the night to order, ugh.  But now if you want the convenience of ordering online and picking it up in a store, you have to order in a 4 hour window, and if they don't have stock to forget it and do it again the next night. No retail outlet with an online order system makes you do that. These tech giants can't figure out how to put you on a waiting list for an in-store pickup?   Sheesh, no wonder their Maps App is so screwed up.

That's the way of big business in America. Everything is about the new customers and no one cares about the loyal customers that have been there for years. When was the last time the cable company gave you 3 free months of a premium channel? If you're a new customer though there's always a deal like that. I subscribe to several magazines and every year I have to let my subscriiption run out and sign up again as a new customer becuase all the "loyal customer deals" they send me to renew are still more than being a new customer. Why aren't existing Apple customers at the very least getting a price break on a lightening to 30 pin adapter?

Until we start to care about our rights as a consumer, nothing is going to change. If no one bought the 30 pin adapter, Apple would change their minds really fast. I didn't buy one because I still use my iPod for listening to music and I was outraged at the price of it.

I talked to a very pleasant Apple representative today and she said that they don't know much more than I'm able to find out by looking at my order or bank account. But, she did think that I should see the next step after 'Processing' here really soon. I'm just so impatient some days...

I ordered mine on 9/14 like almost the entire world. As of October 1st it was still in order process with a date estimate of 10/15.

So I called up Apple to ask why it said "ships within 2-3 weeks" with a delivery date of 10/15? Since that's a month.

Guy at Apple tells me to call my carrier, re-instate my eligibilityfor an upgrade and then call Apple to cancel my order and then re-order between 10:00PM and 4:00AM so I can pick it up at a store.

Call AT&T, on hold with them for an hour, finally re-instate eligibility. Call Apple back, speak to another sales guy, he tells me the same thing and cancels my order.

10:00PM rolls around, I go online, and guess what? No iPhones available throughout Southern California with a now expected delevery date of 3-4 weeks.

Call up Apple again, and NOW they tell me, that they have no idea why the previous Apple employees would tell me to cancel and the information is wrong.

    THANKS APPLE. THANKS A LOT.

    EPIC FAIL

I'm so irritated by that I'm very tempted to get rid of all of my Apple products,

Wow!  I can't believe they told you to cancel.  I live near an Apple store so  I'm in there 1-2 times a week.  Every time I ask about possibly canceling my order they are quick to respond with a fervent "No".

@Thom1218 would have been nice to actually have an employee tell me that.

i ordered on the 15th with a delivery from Oct 10 to 16th. After i ordered i got an email saying my order is being processed. Since then nothing has changed. Am i supposed to get a confirmation email? Or anything else? This is my first time ordering from apple i would always go thru AT&T but with the 4S it was so horrible i decided to try something new and what do you no its the same thing. Last time it seemed whoever ordered from apple got there phones faster but now it seems AT&T is?! This is crazy, i just want my phone that i paid for !
