I am having similar issues.  I started a thread about it earlier this morning, no solutions yet, but:

Hmmm, is it possible that they both (ipad and ipod) in the same time destroy the signal? Is that possible? Because I noticed the same but it only happens, if the iphone is in a close range to the ipad. I don't know, sounds weird but that seems to be the situation for me.

Having same problem on college network in the UK with my iPad2. My current solution is that every morning on entering college I have to totally power-down the ipad and restart. A bit of a hassle and not ideal but only takes a minute or two....apple need to sort out iO6 otherwise they've got a Window's Vista on their hands!

Only solution was returning to iOS 5.1.1 for me. Without a network connection, iPad is nothing.

I tried them and near the end of downgrading, it failed.I called the apple support and they told me now that IOS6 is official, it's not possible to downgrade.(downgrading was for the time that IOS6 was beta)

    when did you downgrade?

    Hi,

I have  a  problem that seems to be same as  f yours . I was at the airport with dozens of Wifi SSIDs from service providers of wifi public access. I have tried all of them ,receiving the same message " it was unable to join to the network". On the other hand , I tried to connect to others available SSID´s that require passwords to connect, in that case I did not face any problem at all.

    Regards

I run a number of wifi hotspots, all of which use a captive portal "Splash Page" that is branded per location.

Since the iOS6 update I have been swamped with guests and customers complaining about this www.apple.com "success" page popping up instead of the intended customers login and terms acceptance page. When cancelling it drops the wifi router connection and there is no way to connect to the intended free wifi hotspot.

The problem is in Apple's update, there currently is no way to disable this unwanted feature.

The solution is to go to your Settings>General>Cellular>Cellular Data and turn it OFF when you are at the hotspot location.

Now when you choose the hotspot's SSID and join it......you will get the sign in page from the captive portal and not the "success" page.

Be sure and turn the Cellular Data back on.....when you leave the hotspot.

Apple needs to fix this WISPr function, I am only a small provider and I am sure that worldwide there are going to be hundreds of thousands of iphone, ipad and laptop users who will no longer be able to sign on at wifi hotspots, work, universities, hospitals and hotels.

As a side note: I have an older 4S phone with iOS6 and I cannot join.....my wife has a newer 4S phone with iOS6 installed and even though both our phones are set exactly the same......she can connect without turning off her cellular data and I cannot.   Curious?

Has anyone came across these articles which were kindly sent to me

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1452329

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4339516?tstart=0

They talk about potential MAC Addresses that are potentially not compatible "Hardware Issue"

My MAC Address : 44:D8:84:63:CA:17 , perhaps another combination.

This all ties in with how our devices communicate to our WAP's ?

Ok there are detailed topics about downgrading to iOS5 but I have yet to find one that works. If you have found one please post the URL.

    Hi Everyone,

Please refer to my post below of how i resolved my connectivity issue

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4317427?start=585&tstart=0

In short: Netgear Prosafe WAP Wg102 : I had to downgrade firmware V5.03 to V5.01 and everything back to normal.

Netgear is aware of the connectivity issue with IOS6 and are in the process of writing a firmware for the device.

As a poster commented after my solution, these issues may not entirely be an APPLE fault, it could be firmware frmo your WiFi vendor which they sent to APPLE before they rolled out IOS6 which was buggy, hence having to "roll back" firmware.

    Good Luck everyone
