Sep 29, 2012 9:11 AM in response to Mikes Houseby Alan Klein3,I'm having the same problem with App Store 1.2.1 (129.7). Since upgrading to ML 10.8.2, App Store keeps indicating the same 3 third-party apps need updating. I updated them a few days ago but App Store doe snot seem to recognize it. I logged in and out of my App Store account, restarted my Mac, but am still having this issue.

Sep 29, 2012 3:50 PM in response to Mikes Houseby Dah•veed,The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
The Mac App Store (MAS) is aware of apps on connected/mounted partitions and HDDs. Is there possibly a partition or HDD, such as a backup drive, that has the older versions of the apps?

Sep 29, 2012 9:29 PM in response to Mikes Houseby tegregg,I have the same issue. The App store is telling me there is an update to Growl to 2.0, but it has already been installed, and the status on the app store says installed, yet it wont go away and still keeps prompting saying there are updates.

Oct 1, 2012 1:37 AM in response to tegreggby HACKINT0SH,I would re-read what Dah*veed said as this is the most common issue.
Well, to troubleshoot you could throw Growl into the trashcan and see what happens. You can always place it back.

Oct 1, 2012 4:42 AM in response to HACKINT0SHby Mikes House,The App is called Mobile Mouse Server. It updated when the original notification was received and works as it is supposed to. The App Store still seems to think it has not been updated. I do not believe it is looking at my Time Machine drive because it says "Installed" and the option is grayed out.
What else do you need to know?

Oct 1, 2012 8:20 AM in response to Dah•veedby Alan Klein3,This issue may be account-based. I have 3 Macs with 3 different Mac OS versions running (10.6.x, 10.7.5 and 10.8.2).
Some apps have beeen updated for Lion but not Snow Leopard, etc. Anyone contact Apple tech support on this?

Oct 4, 2012 8:04 AM in response to Mikes Houseby JAbaian,THis is happening with iPhoto for me. I don't want to drop it in the trash and have to delete it just to get rid of that update notification. But it's driving me nuts.

Oct 4, 2012 12:50 PM in response to Mikes Houseby Alan Klein3,I called Apple tech support. They recommended "updating" one app at a time, instead of hitting "update all."
I had to do this a couple of times, but now the App Store (Mac, not iOS) is not recommending any unneeded upates.

Oct 4, 2012 4:00 PM in response to Mikes Houseby JAbaian,My mac is brand new, so the only update I've done so far was the OS update and iphoto that was recently available. I didn't "update all" because the iphoto was taking too long so I paused and resumed at night. I don't understand the glitch. And now it's saying there's another OS update. It's a supplemental to the last OS update, so maybe that will fix it. I'll let you know when it's done updating. This is so annoying...

Oct 6, 2012 3:43 AM in response to Mikes Houseby richard2180uk,I also have a simlar problem which occured after selecting a multiple update, unfortunatley i now have an outstanding update showing for i photo where the button is greyed out showing installed, i have been in contact with apple, who gave me a few suggestions including signing in and out, checking for unfinished downloads (initally there was also a red error message next to the update saying download failed) this cleared the error message but the app store still shows there is an outstanding update which is already updated.
would welcome any further suggestions
Thanks

PeripheralsHave to agree. I currently have the problem after updating the Cookie App. Have tried the trash route for the dock alias and signing in and out. I suppose I could trash the app itself from the Applications folder and reinstall.
There has to be a glitch in the system; it happens too often to be bad practice by the users and even the Apple geniuses are inconsistent and unable to resolve it. This must be the fourth time it has happened to me
