Thanx. However, there was no AAC option, only MP3. Even though I reduced the time to 30 seconds, when I synced, my iPhone said it was too long so it never showed up in ringtones. Any other suggestions from this point?

Nice work Limnos Thanks for the links etc.Jerrold, you might also drift over to a nifty website callled AUDIKO at their domain, you can (for free) upload any song/sound file and it will convert it for you. You also have the ability to edit the wave form very easily, so you can trim it to a suitable length. Then you can download it directly to your computer (where by now you have figured out where tones are in iTunes),so you can simply drag it into that area and sync your phone..Voila! There is a paid option to send it to your phone,but I would suggest that it's better to save it yourself for free. Pay it forward!
