HI , I am helping friend that has a mac mini. We get a long gray bar whwn booting and then it just spins.

When he booted this morning after 20 min he got a message that said.

The file is possibly corrupted ,  the file header checksim does not match the computer checkum .

Now he has had this mac for about a yr, bought it refurbished from apple and has had the same issue

now 1 other time and the people at small dog in VT has replaced the HD 1 and had to reinstall the os twice,

We are also running parrell software for his QB for his windows version, not sure if this has any cause.

Now all over again..

HELP....

Thanks

Martin

If his computer came with DVDs, insert the OS X DVD, press C key on boot, go to Utilities > Disk Utility and repair Macintosh HD. If his computer didn't come with discs, press Command and R keys on boot, open Disk Utility and repair the disk

Take his Mac to a reseller or Apple Store. The hard drive is damaged
