iPhone 5 time and date issues

    I have a black 32 gig iphone5 with Verizon. I live in Hawaii and I had this problem on the very first day the phone came out. I only noticed the time change at home so I thought it was when my connection changed from LTE to wifi. I turned off the automatic time update and it has seemed to stopped happening. I haven't had the problem since. My girlfriend has the white model and she has the same problem and her's has changed while we were driving. She has not turned off the automatic update. Apple or Verizon needs to fix this quickly.

    In Hawaii it sounds like a specific cell tower/s is/are sending out bad time info.

    I do not believe the problem is wi-fi related. My date and time changed one twice yesterday and one of the times I was away from home. Additionally, I have several other iPhones and iPod touch's at my house that use my wi-fi without any issues.

     

    I agree that this appears to be a VZW problem.

    On Tuesday I backed up my iPhone and did a hard restore and reloaded All the apps and so far so good. I have not had the issue since tuesday.

    You mean hard restore by connecting iphone to Mac or pc OR going through settings and reset trough there.

    I did another test. I put it on manual date and time setting. It happened again. Ok it happens on WiFi, LTE, date and time automatic setting and manual setting and from others a hard restore. So pretty much it's a luck of a draw to have a good iphone working.

    I did it through my pc. I connected to itunes, and completed a restore by resetting to factory settings.  This removed OS6 and then reinstalled it.  I added all my apps back and since Tuesday i have not had any problems.  ((knock on wood))

    This happened to me twice.  Wrong time and date.  I noticed it when my phone was in a bad reception area so it wasn't able to pick up data.  Im worried about using it as an alarm for work.  Sounds like it may be not syncing with the Verizon time servers.  I got a Verizon iPhone 5.

    So getting replacement phones didnt work... Yesterday verizon installed 2 new sim cards in my iPhone 5s... The date/time problem continues on both phones. Today I did a firmware reinstall using a freshly downloaded file, set up the phone like new and with a new iTunes account and downloaded the update to the carrier settings. Also, I didnt download anything off my old itunes account so i have no contacts or anything... I did just the bare minimum set up to get it to work... lets see if any of that does anything

    There was a carrier update that came out today to bring it to 13.1 for Verizon. Has this fixed the issue for anyone? I haven't seen my time change since a replacement phone and this carrier update. But that could be just coincidence at this point too.

    I got the carrier update last night (and rebooted the phone as it said to do), but the time changed this morning again.    It happens on average 3-4 times a day for me (and it always resets to 21.5 hours earlier than the current time), though so far I think it's only happened when I'm at home.

    I, too, was hopefull the "carrier update" would solve the problem, so I went back to "Set Time Automatically" after the update. About 45 minutes later, the time shifted itself into the past...again.

    Back to "Set Time Manually."

    If this were an Apple problem, or even an iOS 6 glitch, wouldn't it be happening to non-Verizon iPhone 5's, too?
