I've already been to the apple store with the same issue after i got the phone. They reinstalled itunes 10.7 and then it was able to see the phone and sync'd fine at the store. 4 days later, I am trying to sync my phone again to itunes and once again and it is not seeing my phone. My computer does see the phone connected so it is definitely an itunes issue. I don't see any updates to itunes as of yet.  Anyone having this issue and able to fix it? I am on 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and ios6 on my phone.

I'm having the same issue with old 3GS.  I have done all of the steps, and it worked for a few days.  So now I have to go through all of those steps AGAIN???  If I have to do all this every few days, the problem is NOT with my phone or what I'm doing.  The problem is that Apple F'd something up big time, and either iOS 6 or iTunes 10.7 was rushed out the door before it should have been, and they have a serious bug they need to squash.

You might get better information posting to the iTunes for Mac or the Mac forums as the issue is not with the iPhone.

I'm going to take a guess here and say the iPhone is detected in OSX, it is simply iTunes that is not detecting the device.

    Bull excrement.

What exactly are you basing that statement on?

The millions of iOS devices syncing to iTunes without any issues and users not coming here to praise Apple for everything working as it is supposed to?

Or the few dozen posting here that have issues?

Either way, your statement has no facts to back it up...

    What variable changed?  iOS 6.

    before? no problems.

Now? can't pick anything up on wifi.

Mr. Snarky, maybe you can find a better idea.

Maybe you would have better results if you tried basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide which is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new) instead of getting all defensive when others point out flaws in your logic.

The only one getting defensive is the one who brought 'anger' to the table..re-read the posts and see who you think that is.

All of the obvious 'troubleshooting' was done long ago.

    Hope you feel better tomorrow.

{SOLVED} Make sure that you are using the cables that came with the iphone because I was using cables that came with my rechargable case. Once i took off the case, and pluged my iphone 5 into the computer using the origional cable it worked. Hope this helps.
