Q: IPhone 5 can't receive calls on Bluetooth in car

Hi,

I can't receive calls via Bluetooth in my car since upgrading from an iPhone 4S to iPhone 5. I can make calls and stream music but if I pick up an incoming call its silent. I see lots of other people are having the same problem. Is Apple working on the or has anyone found a fix yet please?

Thanks

I'm having exactly the same problem with a Toyota TomTom kit. I can't seem to find a fix to this issue anywhere. Hopefully a software upgrade will fix that

I am having the same problem with Iphone 4s IOS 6.0.1

I can make calls but not receive incoming calls.Neither speaker or phone ring in. I have read that this is a common problem with Iphones. I don't understand why Apple doesn't try to fix this. Re-pairing the phone does not help.

Found a solution. Go to settings, accessibility, physical & motor, incoming calls. Select headset. incoming calls revert to bluetooth when in car and phone when not in car.

    Thank you so much, ladydlc!

We just picked up our Mazda CX-5, and I stumbled across the issue with the incoming calls not being transferred to the hands-free. I googled, found this and applied your solution: now it works! AWESOME!

Unfortunately, the "prev folder" and "next folder" buttons in the audio player of the CX-5 won't make my iPhone 5 play the next album, but that is just a minor problem compared to the incoming calls.

Thanks again for making my day!!! ;-)

I am having the same problem as many others - since I got my iPhone 5 I can't receive Bluetooth calls but I ican stream music and make outgoing calls.  Everything used to work when I had my old 3GS.  So I wanted to try your solution but when I go to Settings on my iPhone 5 I can't find "accessibility" or the rest of what you mentioned.  Where am I going wrong?

I have a CX-5 as well.  I have tried all the ideas on this thread.  Seemed to work at first but still have same issue.  The iPhone 4S works fine for some reason but not the iPhone 5 with this vehicle.

Ive tried everything posted in this discussion re incoming calls with my Mazda CX5.The only thing that works is accepting call, and switching between handset and Mazda, but while driving this isnt a suitable idea.

Ive called Apple ,and Mazda ,and now mazda list it on there web site www.mazdahandsfree.com.au

as Iphone 5 not compatible iwth incoming calls. Its very frustrating,as My Iphone 4 worked well, and I use the phone in the car a lot.

I can't even get my iPhone 5 to pair with my new CX5!!! Very frustrating but I will try some of these suggestions. Every time I try to pair it sees my phone gives me pass code and then says pairing unsuccessful.

My problems were all solved by one of the last IOS6 updates. I can now accept calls with my Toyota built in bluetooth. Have you upgraded ios to the latest version?

Thanks, I did update and now I'll see if I can accept calls or not. It was ok calling out since it finally paired. Don't know if it was the update or not. Thanks for replying.
