Hi there, this was the initial reason that I joined the Apple Support Community. I can tell you that I'm facing the same issue. I've switched over to the '@icloud.com' domain in the past few days after using the icloud mail feature for a couple of months with the '@me.com' domain.

In the iCloud.com settings within the Mail 'app' both my email addresses (the same name, only seperated with the iCloud & Me domains) appear with the option of selecting which one I'd prefer to receive mail at.

I'm just going to stop there to make sure we're both on the same page,

    Cheers.

Regardless of that, after a bit of research it appears that Apple hasn't got the '@icloud.com' domains fully functioning. They're present but not entirely active. Here's some additional information relating to icloud email addresses from the Apple Support Page. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5441

    Thanks.

I recently switched my mail settings to send from icloud.com once this became available, but am also getting reports of messages bouncing.

It looks like Apple have not yet got it working fully so I will switch back to me.com for now.
