Same issue here on VZW in southern California. 16gb iPhone 5. Very frustrating, the reason I left the Android world was their half-baked OS. How could Apple & Verizon collectively let this happen? Quite frankly, I don't really care who's fault it is, the finger pointing has to stop and they both need to focus on a solution like now...

It's happening again...still 2 1/2 hrs ahead!  Just happened.  I've been home on wifi for maybe 30min.

iPhone 5 64gb Verizon... This problem will happen when I switch from wifi to LTE or LTE to wifi. Anytime I go from one or the other my time will change, sometimes the date too though always the time. It's getting very annoying so I was actually considering turning off wifi, just using LTE. However since I was required to switch plans to a limited data plan, using LTE only isn't an option.

Switching off wifi won't help.  I've tried literally every permutation and combination.  I've turned wifi off.  Used wifi exclusively.  Been in airplane mode.  Turned location services off.  Turned it on.  Turned it on, but toggled time zone settings off.  Nothing works.

One thing I've noticed is that a lot of people seem to be having this issue at their home.  I don't know that I've seen it happen yet while I'm at work.  I've seen it every day since launch day at my house. I've even replaced my iPhone, but that didn't prevent the glitch from occurring.

I currently have 3 iPhone 5s that have this problem - one for each family member.  They are all Verizon phones.  They're all 64gb phones - 2 black and 1 white.

It's past time for Apple/VZW to fix this.

Mine started doing it after the Verizon update I installed Monday morning. Every time I go from cell to wifi it seems to get confused. My theory leans toward an issue with Verizon. Either way this is über annoying.

Sorry to break the news but it happens on LTE also. I'm at work at no wifi connected.

    So here's where I'm at:

    * Spoke to AppleCare support today, got elevated to higher tech, explained the whole situation where I have APSD crash logs, turning off cellular data fixes it, date/time issues, etc, etc. He said he hasn't heard about it, but that he thought it was probably hardware related, though he didn't know what it might be.

    * I went to the Apple Store and had the hardware replaced.

So far, two hours later, no issues. I'll report back again in a few hours whether or not things have continued to function, but so far it looks good. I'd say start making Genius appointments if you can to get these things swapped.

I replaced my iPhone 5 that I'd had for two days with another brand new iPhone 5 from Apple.  The same issue arose a few hours after setting that phone up as a new device.  In my opinion, it isn't hardware related.

Everyone start tweeting, facebooking, google+, email bloggers, journalist, news sites...etc.  The Internet should know about this and we'll get this fixed!

    Questions:

    1. Do you have the date/time only issue, or does it break iMessage, Facetime and Push Notifications?
    2. Does turning off cellular data entirely fix your problem?
    3. Do you have loads of APSD crash logs in Settings > General > About > Diagnostics > Diagnostics?

I replaced 2 iPhone 5s and got replacement sim cards without luck. I too have trouble shot as far as I can... I agree that in order for this issue to be resolved quickly it needs to get blown up in the online media. Its unexaptable that people are still calling in and talking to techs that are oblivious to this issue. Any ideas for sites to post on for the greatest effect?

We just got 2 ip5's 10/1/12 and we have seen this behaviour on both our phones my wifes phone more then mine.

Turning airplane mode on and off resets it to the correct time.

    Let's get this fixed Apple/VZW.

    2 black IP5's 64gig ,SD CA

Sadly, after a few hours, the issue is back for me too even with this new iPhone 5. No iMessage, no Facetime, no APN. UGH.
