You beat me to it! I was going to do this tomorrow as soon as my unactivated T-Mobile SIM card came in the mail. I was almost positive it would work, but kudo's to you for beating me just in time, haha.

When will you all learn that you have to just get  out from udner Apple.  They don't give two poops about any of us or our information.  They make a change that benifits them and if it pee over 1/2 of their customers who cares?  Stop letting Apple walk all over you.  They are not that awesome by any means and their customer support is the most poopy I have -ever- seen.  90% of their "techs" don't know what the peepee they are talking about and at best they are reading answers for your problem to you out of a book that was provided for them by Apple.  Tired of everytime they come otu with something new a million people suffer in silence as question after question remains unanswered.  Curse APPLE

Apple has no interest in supporting hacked phones.  Deal with it.

Apple fully supports custom APN's. Why do you think they allow it? Besides, a fix has been confirmed and everything works now. This thread is over.

I have tried every single solution on here besides switching to T-mobile. still nothing has worked. I have an iphone 4, and have tried everything, so no, the fix has not been confirmed.

I have an Iphone 4 on go phone, and also until I upgraded until iOS 6, everything worked fine. ATT refuses to unlock my iphone and none of the solutions above have helped. Tmobile told me that unless I switched to their services, they werent going to help me, but I have the $50 a month unlimited talk and text plan, and I am not willing to change my number either to switch to tmobile... im about to sell this iphone 4 and get a droid if apple doesnt fix this.

Let me clear some things up:

    1. alexgophone posted a good solution. Try it out.

    2. This issues does not and never has had anything to do with hacking or jailbreaking. Everyone experiencing these problems is presumably using their devices as intended.

    3. JDeevy, you're an idiot. If you hate Apple so much, why do you have an Apple ID and why bother looking at the support forums. Go buy an Android, I hear they're shiny, too.

I actually happen to hate Apple because I hate my wife being griefed.  Ever since she got that stupid, single-minded, piece of technology she has periodically had severe phone problems resulting in loss of communication and in the most recent **** up by apple perhaps the loss of 60% of our 1 year old twin baby girl's pictures.  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4388767    There is a link to my discussion.  Don't look at it unless you like hardcore peepee because I vividly describe how Apple has ran a poop train on us with this new iOS.  Mind you that these views of mine are already jaded by a deep-seeded hatred for a company who leases phones, allows little to no personalization outside what they think is ok, and generally tries to control the technology in people's lives.  As far as my responses to numerous posts and Apple problems....I believe these responses were the overflow of hatred that had no where else to go after my initial discussion post.  As for me being an idiot...your hasty and simple judgement of me only reconstitutes the notion that I am speaking with an Apple sillyboy who has everything short of Apple wiping their elbows done for them by this "technology".  Somehow Apple has taken smart people and made them think its ok that their pooping products do exactly opposite of what they are supposed to sometimes and that unprovoked trampoline jumping with anyone who buys a product from them is just a perk of being a big business.  So, in conclusion, next time you wish to just dismiss someone as an "idiot" trolling the tubes just know that I already hate myself quite a bit for posting on these forums as much as I have and if it weren't for my families memories being at stake i'd much sooner be caught at the silly goose convention you manage on the weekends to pay off your student loans and your Apple bills.

These phones were unlocked by unauthorized methods, and many are using AT&T GoPhone which specifically excludes iPhones and had to be hacking the APN to access service, which, in effect, is theft of service.  No factory or authorized unlocked phones using a sanctioned AT&T plan lost MMS.

What are you talking about, "unlocked by unauthorized methods"? It's called buying the phone out right. The phone is automatically unlocked if you buy it for $649.99. That being said, it's completely supported by all carriers (especially AT&T) to use iPhone's on the GoPhone service. You're just not suppossed to use data on smartphones on the GoPhone plan. Does it work? Sure. Are you supposed to? Not really, no. But people do it, so get over it. If you're complaining about how Apple products suck, then quit using them. This thread was supposed to help out each other out on the APN settings on iOS 6 on ALL iDevices. I can confirm this is working because I'm using data AND MMS on my iPhone 5 with the AT&T GoPhone plan. Good fight though, kid.

(This is actually JDeevy) I in no way shape or form have tampered with this phone illegally <by apples standards. The iPhone that I am currently using and am having issues happens to be a legit iPhone. So wherever this rumor that this is strictly a problem with jailbroken or hacked phones is either a liar or severely misinformed. Now if we could all just please grow up and be adults for 5 delicious minutes and find someone who possibly knows how to resolve these issues that would be greatly appreciated.
