Hi,

I downloaded the trial version of iWork '09 and purchased a serial number a while ago. Is there a way of getting iWork through the AppStore? I do not want only updates through the AppStore (I read somewhere that this is done anyway). But for e.g. a clean system install, I want the 3 apps themselves to be listed in the AppStore so I can redownload them if needed.

Cheers

Phil

    I dont understand your post.

If you already have iWork 09 installed and  working, what do you want  to do?

If you want to check for updates go to the Apple menu > software updates.

There is no need to download again, you already have the latest version (09) so you cant upgrade yet.

Apple or somebody else has stored an old version of the trial, install it, give in my reg number.

You dont need to do that-you already have an installer file of iWork and a registration code when you purchased, just keep a hold of both of those items,  and back them up fon a separate disc for safety.

Whereas the programs stored in my AppStore account need only a click to be installed. Thats what I want for my legal iWork copy too.

Apple keep your purchase records for up to 18 months - enough time for you to back up the installer and registration details for any future installation.

After this time you are expected to purchase another download, these are the conditions for all Apple downloaded products.

I know I dont NEED to, I want to. My whole problem is a convenience matter! I dont want to keep my reg code and a installer CD... I want to be able to install it via AppStore!

At this time, your out of luck as Apple does not provide an ongoing software retrieval service for the Apple Store

or the App Store. Apple explicitly advise customers in the purchase emails sent to customers to store registration codes and to backup copies of all there software purchases.

Apple keeps purchase information for a maximumof 18 months from date of purchase, after that you will have to purchase downloadable products again.

If you want to down load software and retrieve registration codes, for short term use, sign up to a cloud based storage service.
