Didn't work for me.  I have now tried everything listed on here, wifi is still greyed out, so i can't even try to turn it on.  Apple you are about to lose yourself a customer.

I have the same problem. My Wifi suddenly acted up just this afternoon. I can't turn it on. I tried everything you guys suggested on this thread but nothing seems to work. This is so frustrating and I hope Apple can resolve this issue. :'(

I have tried everything suggested, spent several hours on the phone to Apple and have now been advised there isnt a fix, i need to change my phone. Was offered 3 options, firstly for me to pay £30 and they would send new phone and collect old one on the same day!! Not sure why i should be out of pocket!! Secondly they would send me a box for me to return my phone, once received and tested they would send me a replacement, this service would take approx 3 weeks start to finish or finally drive a 60 mile round trip to get a replacement. No applogy or acceptance of this issue being their responsibility!!

I just got off the phone with Apple Canada Support. The greyed out wifi switch is a known issue and Apple is working on a patch. There is no timeline for it's actual release but the support guy was suggesting that it should be out in less than a week.

Well I hope the guy wasn't talking waffle....hahhaha, i bet they don't even acknowledge the wifi  grayed out let alone do a patch within a week.

Very dissatisfied. My wifi is greyed out aswell what is the point in releasing new software if it isn't ready? Same old apple great hardware, terrible software, but this is worse than usual. I really hope this can be fixed soon and is not the start of a slippery slope.

I also have the same problem. Wifi button greyed out following update to ios6. My phone purchased April 12. Husband's phone purchased Aug 12 is fine and all working ok. NB without wifi the backup to iCloud function won't work and the option to "back up now" manually has disappeared. Not impressed. As phone is still under warranty I will be asking for a new handset or money back.

you are not able to solve it...

Wait for 6.x or replace it at the genius bar, or send it back to apple for an exchange

I just sent mine Iphone 4S to Apple care because of the greyed out wifi button.

Here is the problem I am having, i paid good money for a new phone, now they will send me a refurbished.

I would not be so bent on the refurb, but the phones are so expensive to begin with.

    Thank you, and good night.

I took mine into apple store and only solution was to replace, said problem is a bad logic board. My phone was under warrant so my cost was time and energy..good luck to everyone!

Mine was greyed out as well once I did the upgrade.  I called apple and they had me send it to them.  I shipped it for free and recieved a new phone within three days from the shipment date and it works great!  All of the other issues with my original phone are no longer a problem now that I have a new phone.
