You mentioned that you got Mountain Lion installed on a 2006 Xserve though, and that has a 32bit EFI. Aren't the intructions only for Macs with a 64bit EFI, or am I missing something?

Google is your friend. I've been admonished on the forums before so I will not explicitly link to the solution. So far our only limitation on the 2006 appears to be a cap of 8 GB of RAM. Anything over and you KP. Again, this is unsupported so consider the deployment environment before going forward.

I have lost all faith in Apple as a enterprise company.
No wonder that third party company, what was it called? Psychstar or something like that was making rack mountable 'Hackintosh' servers. It is sad that apple is going this route as I am sure a lot of people are now Hackintoshing servers.
