None of those are necessary, especially the printer items unless you are using your printer daily and scheduling print jobs. I had the same items for my Epson, deleted them and the printer is still working. As for Growl, that is up to you - I very much dislike it so I would not allow it on my machine at all.

Thanks. Out they go ... although it is helpful to know when my printer is out of paper since it's in another room. May keep that for a while. But at least I know I can get rid of them.

That's nice if your HP has that capability to notify you - my Epson does not. Actually, there is no warning whatsoever until after I start the printing process; then I get a message on the LCD screen "out of paper".......
