I have my iphone5 for a couple of days now and sometimes it works good but al of a sudden

it doesn't recognize my sim card. This happened three times now, at first it just said ''no sim''

but now its saying ''problem with sim''.....

Anyone else had this happening to them?

Grtz

The iPhone 5 requires a SIM to activate, regardless of carrier.

You do have a SIM, or rather you need one to activate the device.  It did come with one.

Bought qty of 5 iPhone 5's.  One had this problem, a few times "NO SIM".  Went to the Apple Store and we swapped for a new one, activated with Verizon and have not had any problems.

The Verizon store can do this too, but many do not have SIMs because they are a new size, so call them to check

I had the same problem with my iPhone 5 from Sprint.  I called customer service and they are going to exchange the phone for another one.

I just got my iphone 3 days ago and I'm having the no SIM issue.  What's up Apple? And is this forum your idea of support services?  Not one formal response from Apple Support acknowleging the issue or what to do.  That says a lot about how you view your customers and what your focused on.

No one here is an Apple employee, we're all users like yourself.

You will almost never see a formal response from Apple here.  If there is an issue, they will release an iOS update.

Replace the SIM card, then chill out.

I have just had the same problem when my iPhone 5 suddenly just didn't recognize my sim card. I eject the sim tray and replace the card with the other sim card and it just works. It turns to be that my sim card had larger chip and when i cut it to nano size it just cut some part of the chip. So I went to the network provider and ask for new sim card (which had smaller chip) and when i cut it into nano size and insert the sim than it just works perfectly.
