Your display is LG. LG uses a different technology than Samsung and it suffers from Image Retention.
If you are within your 14 days, ask for a replacement. If not and IR is visible enough to pass Apple's tests they will replace your screen. Hopefully you will get a Samsung.
If it's not visible enough to get Apple to replace it, you will have to wait.

Seems like all Samsung display from September are yellow. *****, because I was happy with the machine otherwise
Both of mine are from September and are not yellow. It appears there is just wide variability between each display.

Thank you for your feedback. So far I've heard from dbainbridge who got white-white Samsungs. That indicates a possibility of getting a good display without IR or yellowishness. Perhaps we should continue to ask for screen replacements until we hit jackpot or the chassis-and-screws give way due to dismantling and assembling. #sigh#

so i have IR ,but not sooo much. should i leave it as it is or take it an change the sceen?
but it seems it maybe give u worse screen right?
Are you within your 14 day return period? If yes, return. Get another one.
If no, then depends on how tolerable it looks to you. Doesn't bother you? Wait until it does, then ask for repair.

I've been following several forums about this issue since the beginning.
I reveived my BTO rMBP back in July. Everything was perfect when I received my unit. My rMBP was equipped with an Samsung Display. There were no signs of IR, the screen was perfect.
After about a month I discovered one stuck pixel, shining green on a dark background. It didn't bother me that much. There was also some bleeding on the left side of the screen, only noticable with a black background.
This week I discovered some dirt behind the glass.
I went to the Apple store today and they replaced my screen. Two hours later my unit was already ready for pick up.
I got another Samsung display, part number 661-7171. It was the only one they had in stock.
For everyone with IR issues, I think you're better off by just getting your screen replaced. The Apple genuises did an amazing job for me today.
I really hope this issue will get resolved for everyone.

Yeah I'm very happy that this worked out so well. The old one had no yellowish tint right out the box. So I didn't do any calibration.
The new one seems to be slightly yellowish, espeacially compared to my 27" Thunderbolt Display. But that does not bother me, I'm happy the way it looks.
Edit: It seems that the yellowish tint only appears on the white area of my wallpaper. They look a little different on both screens. Dragging the Finder window over to compare to two, they look almost identical. Can't see any yellowish tint.

To all new people who just joined the thread; most laptops shipped with LG manufactured displays had image retention, while Samsung-made ones didn't.
I made this app you can download to quickly determine the make of your screen; especially if you don't favor using command-line interfaces such as Terminal.

Been following this thread for some time and my rmbp came with a LG screen. I called Apple for a replacement since I was within my 14 day period. What are the odds I'll get a Samsung? I hope I don't have to play the lottery too many times..

I have been following this issue for awhile now, thank you guys for all the amazing input!
I received my order today, for a customized rMBP. Checked on http://appleserialnumberinfo.com and it turns out that I have a Week 41 build, and it is a LG display after checking on terminal. Even though I did some IR test and it is currently not showing any issues, I am not satisfied with this. I want a Samsung screen just to be on the safe side, and plus I piad $3000 for this machine, I expected better.
If you guys can help me with this part, it'll be great. Since I have a couple of options due to the 14 days period should I:
1) Call AppleCare and request a replacement, if I do this, will I be able to keep my machine until the new one arrives? also, does the 14 days period reset when I receive my new machine?
2) Buy a new one, wait for the new rMBP to arrive, and return my current one. (repeat this until a Samsung)
I would perfer option 1 due to payment complication, IF it is possible to keep the laptop until the new one arrives AND the 14 days period reset.
Again, thank you guys for all the knoweldge, it is unbelievably helpful. Apple's customer service needs to hire some of you guys to run it.
