Currently Being ModeratedMar 22, 2006 6:21 AM (in response to Robert Evans3)When you burn an Audio CD, the files are decompressed to PCM, which is 'seen' by the Finder as AIFF.
If you want to convert them to AIFF first, you can do that using iTunes.
Set the encoder to AIFF at 'Import using:' in 'Preferences>Advanced>Importing', select the songs you want to convert and choose 'Convert Selection to AIFF' from the Advanced menu in the menubar.
In my opinion this is only necessary when you want to adjust the volume in an audio editor.
