I am using iphone 4S  with software version 5.1.1.  I connected my iphone with laptop to update my iphone to a newer version but the following message came up:

"The iphone  (....) could not be updated.  An unknow error occured (3014). "

Could anyone help me please?

You need to make sure you have the newest version of iTunes on the computer. The lastest one is 10.7. If you don't have that, just download and install that and you should be alright.

Do you have a firewall or antivirus software blocking the update? Try changing or even disabling firewall or antivirus settings.
