Every update comes with some issue sor some people. I did not have a battery issue on my iPhone 4, neither has the person I gave it to.
Besides the above suggestions, most often severe battery loss indicates a problem with an app that is constantly polling a server because they are out of sync, often due to a password issue. Do you an Exchange email account on your iPhone? This is usually the most likely suspect. If you have a work account, contact the Exchange administrator at your work. If you have a Gmail work account delete that account and re-enter it.
