We dont all have an unlimited download allowance.  The Apple Store in the nearest city is 50 kms away for a free wifi download.  Its an inconvenience.  We don't all have fast broadband networks in our regions.  Couldn't these "ever increasing in size updates" be broken down into more manageable chunks?  I am currently downloading the 10.7.5 update and it is saying 4 hours until completion.  That's about right for the network capabilities in my area.  If I could download in say 500mb chunks instead, it would be easier and less likely to drop out before completion.
