Try moving the app one page at a time rather than multiple pages - I had the same problem moving Apple Maps to the back page but it worked when I tried the stepwise method.

This is ridiculous! Ios 6 is full of bugs. I have the same problem when moving apps the phone crashes and when it restarts it is dark and I have to go into the brightness settlings to reset the brightness. Moving the app page by page does it for now. Thanks smk. Please fix this Apple!

I'm having the same problem. Apple Support says this is a known problem that will be resolved in the next release of iOS 6...

This is getting crazy the system resets every time I move apps into folders as soon as I press the home button the iPad resets completely I really hope Apple keeps working until this bug is fixed. It's crazy because I keep trying to organize the apps and when it resets the folders are not made and apps are not moved to their new folders. Fix this ASAP!

I have started experiencing the same problem this morning on my iPad (3rd generation) but am not having this problem on my iPhone 5. It is very frustrating.

Same thing here. Just got my new iPhone 5 and am loading/organizing apps. It was fine until I got to the 6th page of apps, then all **** broke loose. Every time I add a second app to that page, the phone crashes and re-starts with a very dim screen.
This is completely frustrating!

Found a strange (and nonsensical) solution--but it worked for me:
1. I put all of the apps that i wanted together on a page into a folder on one of the pages that preceded the crash page.
2. I dragged that folder past the offending page (in my case, the 6th app page) on to a later page.
3. I copied the apps one-by-one backwards to the offending page.
4. No more crashes, apps where I want them.

I lost all my folders when I changed how I synch apps, and now I get the soft reset constantly when trying to put everything back. I hope Apple fixes this soon.

Am experiencing the same behavoir. After moving an app from one screen to another screen (2 screens away) and pressing the home button, iPhone crashes (soft reset). Just started this week.

Utterly ridiculous. iOS 6 is the worst iOS release so far. Buggy, without adding any meaningful features.
And yeah this just happened to me as well, I ended up moving the app in iTunes.

Still a problem in iOS 6.0.2.
