Oct 7, 2012 1:03 PM in response to sldoughby Ralph Johns (UK),Hi Sue,
DBX has a very specific issue that seems to be effecting a limit few.
Having an @mac.com name that has worked for years even when travelling to different Countries that has been Suspended by AIM due to "Unusual Activity".
In the past AIM had a Suspended account page with a similar email to contact AIM to sort it out.
AIM or rather AOL employees used to know that certain Apple IDs were also valid AIM Screen Names and unblock them when they were contacted.
It seems at the moment this is not happening.
In your case of trying to unravel various Apple IDs that have been linked and may not have recovery email address linked to @mac.com names can be difficult to explain let alone pursue.
In some cases Skype way well be a better cross platform communication method.

Nov 4, 2012 9:04 AM in response to Ralph Johns (UK)by DXB Law,Hi Ralph,
I wanted to report that iChat is now working again - at least for now - without any additional intervention on my part. Something must have moved below the surface between AIM and Apple.
This may be temporary - I am back "home" (in the United States) and just got my power back after a 5-day shutdown due to Hurricane Sandy - so let us see what happens the next time I head out to Dubai which is scheduled to be next week.
Thanks,
DXB Law.

That is good to hear.
I hope it lasts out.
There have been several threads on this in the end and I suggested to all that they post in iChat Feedback.
I even added my own voice to that. May have done some good.
