I just had a vision with your monkey comments...

The monkey driving the jeep in "Grandma's Boy"... DRIVE MONKEY, DRIVE!!!!  Would Tim be in the back seat or the front passenger whilst the monkey is driving?

I have been thinking about some solutions for the IOS 6 maps. Apple could return with Google Maps in IOS 6 and keep Apple Maps too. So, we could have the best of both worlds

That'd be awesome wicked sweet huh?  I believe the problem there is the length of the contract with Googy and their maps program/service, etc..  Another argument that Appy is gonna give as to why they are not going to allow any of us to downgrade.  Remember ladies and gentlemen, there is a way to downgrade your iPad and iPhone.  One stip is that you don't have an A5 or A6 powered device... if you need full Apple support for a downgrade, ain't gonna happen, ever.  And that boils me blood with Appy.

I have always heard that Apple listen its users. What has been changed?

Good post as usual.. just I don't agree with the conclusion because the whole matter is just starting. So why jumping to the conclusions from now thinking it won't happen.

If it does then it is for their own good. They will win us back as customers who might consider sticking with them for our next purchase. If not they will be the losers as we won't buy their devices again. So where is the harm in continuing this?

The other alternative is to listen to watchdogs and write to a blackhole called "feedback" form for iPhone that doesn't even have the decency to have a pull down menu for the version of the iOS you are giving the feedback about although it enlists all Mac and Windows versions.

Were you not aware of Adobe's decision to discontinue development and support of Flash for all mobile devices? Do you need any help in finding their forums?

What does Flash have to do with iOS 6's failures?  I know it's a personal badgering towards Ex-Apple Fan but I mean seriously, you're a Level, so we ALL expect the best of behavior from you folks.

You're right Ex about the blackhole... I agree.  I've sent SO many emails to that "support hole" that it's not even funny, you press send and they fall directly into File 13.

It is just ludicrous that we bought and paid for these devices and we can't run whatever OS on them that we like, works for us and makes us happy.  Won't happen again... next time I buy a phone it'll be something by Samsung, they need our help to recoup all that money they're gonna pay Apple.  And since Apple doesn't give a toot about any of us, we should support someone else for a change.

What puzzles me is how does Apple think they could away with this? I mean I am in business too and I pamper my clients the whole year long to make them subscribe with me the next year.

Honnestly, they might get away with it in the US but this is a real killer outside the US. Today, I read a couple of posts from Japan based users and it looks Apple would really have a difficult time there as the shortages and deficiencies in Maps start to appear. How do you accept upseting clients in a core market like Japan? Whatis this business model they follow to make them think they could get away with such move?

What makes me so optimistic about the possible official downgrade acceptance is the situation in core markets like Japan with a customer like the Japanese.

I have an iPad 1 and would like to know what will happen with Google Maps when the contract with Apple expires. Google Maps will stop working?

If somebody knows an answer for that, please post here, because I prefer sell my iPad now for a low price than to throw it in the garbage at one year.

Oh !!! Apple, Apple, Apple !!! what a mess you have done !!!

I'm not talking about downgrade. Not that I'm against that, on the contrary, that will be a great option, while Apple finds its directions. In fact, I'm talking about Google Maps and iLost living together in perfect harmony on the same IOS. I bet that everybody will gain with that.

I don't know but they are getting away with it.  They have for years now, they've never allowed downgrading just because people wanted it or complained, those just went ignored just like now.

The apology that was sent out from Cook about Maps, that's all anyone will get and we'll see an update shortly to 6 that'll probably (hopefully) fix the map issue.  From what I'm seeing of iOS 6 maps, it looks a lot like the iOS 5 maps to me, not much difference except the other is COMPLETE and working.  But who wants that anyway?

I was about to point out the population of Japan campared with the population of the US and the population of Asia, the population of North America, the population of south America and the population of Europe, then I realised I was replying to you. Look up the figures for yourself., with sympathy,

Thanks... unfortunately my English doesn't allow me to be as precise and concise as I would like to be and I have to explain in lines what I could say in my native language in a few words.

My congratulations. In the eight days (has it only been that?) since you joined these forums, I had not suspected you were not a native speaker of English.

I just found out this yesterday too.  I have a iPhone 4 and can't use voice navigation and now have crappy map service.  What the **** was the point of the upgrade?

I sent many suggestions to the iPhone product suggestion email requesting that Siri be included in the iOS 6 update for iPhone 4.  Considering it was in the App Store at one time until Apple bought it and then decided to make it iDevice specific, basically taking yet another option away from it's customers.  As you see, it didn't make it and there are lots of unhappy people as a result.

A lot of people were expecting the same features on iPhone 4 as on the 4S or 5 when iOS 6 came out, those same people are disapointed today.  You should read about what's included in your iOS 6 version so you'll know what the point was, control.  You won't find the truth and all the little things on this forum because it's heavily moderated and edited to remove such but you will find it elsewhere.  This is NOT the forum to be on to find true tech support for any questions outside of base installs.  This is NOT a complaint forum, sadly.

It's a little late in this thread to expect to get any points for "helping" with questions.  You can let your guard down if you can, it'll be alright.

Everything you listed SHOULD have been included for all devices that iOS 6 is supported on and clearly it's supported on iPhone 4 or Apple wouldn't have allowed iPhone 4 users to upgrade (can you really call it that?) to iOS 6.
