So I have a 2009 iMac, a 4th Gen iPod Touch and I just got a 2nd Gen Apple TV a few weeks ago. I am frustrated. Normally Apple products work great, so I'm assuming there are some router settings I need to adjust since Airplay and Home Sharing only work about half the time. Any suggestions? I have a SMC router. supposedly its a pretty nice one and there are about a hundred settings in it that I don't fully understand. Also, I'm having no trouble connecting to the internet, just with these devices connecting to each other. Like I said, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, sometimes they give up after a few minutes of working.

Effected connections are: Airplay from iPod, Airplay from iTunes, Home Sharing connection to iTunes from Apple TV, and i've had a few issues with the "Remote" app on my iPod, but that one usually works.

I have the same issue with inconsistencies with AirPlay and HomeSharing. I have a 2009 iMac, 3rd generation Apple TV, and an iPad 3. They are all on the same wireless network. I have restarted the network router several times, I have swapped out the Apple TV as well. Nothing seems to help. I have followed all of the Apple support suggestions. Nothing seems to work. These devices just do not want to work together. I have updated all the firmware and OS to the latest versions as well. Any other ideas on how to get this to work?
