iPhone 5 wavy lines on the screen

    I have same issue but it seems to only happen when typing is required!

    Same thing with mine..I'm on Verizon...read a story on CNET that said others are having the problem.  Apple is saying its likely a software issue that is specific to the iPhone 5 with iOS 6...a very discomforting issue...an update would make me feel better

    I am having this problem too.  I noticed it right away after I activated the phone.  I spent 2 hours on the phone with Sprint, they had me restore the phone and finally decided to send me out a new one.  I'm still under the 14 day return policy.

     

    Did anyone else still have this probem when they got their new phone?  And will the new phone they are sending me be brand new?  How do I tell if it is brand new?

    Had my iPhone 5 32gb replaced because of this issue, and the new phone has the same problem that appears once or twice a day when the keyboard is used to type, definitely a software bug

    I was on another thread dealing with the same glitch and have seen it on other forums as well.  I am experiencing it as well when typing my password mainly for downloading apps.  This seems to be the norm.

     

    I've seen others have had their phones replaced but that this issue still shows up!  Seems like it is a software issue and hopefully will be fixed with the new update.  That would be nice!

    This is a known issue.  Apple employees are asked not to issue repacement iPhones for the lines on the screen.

    I was at the genuis bar yesterday and although the issue was unknown to the genius I spoke with, he did return with orders from HQ (which I read on his iPad) with the message "do not issue repacement iPhones for the lines on the screen.  This is a known issue and will be addressed in a software update." 

    So there you have it.  Good News!

    It was a software glitch. The 6.0.1 solved it and it only happened when you were typing in your password for the app store. Cheers.

    I have upgraded to 6.0.1 and am still having this issue. I have only noticed it when I am entering my password for iTunes or the App store.

    Am on 6.1.3 and it's still happening on a variety of screens/functions and often does it while not being used at all. Not convinced by the software fix yet.
