Which fix did you guys use so I can update the original post and see if it works for others?

I have been following this post daily and experiencing all the issues with push/active sync.  Former long-time BB user and just switched to the Verizon iphone 5.  I'm also connected to the same account with an Ipad 2 running IOS 6.  The ipad has worked fine for several months and when I upgraded to 6 it kept working -- a few issues, but the push has generally been fine.

Issues with the new iphone started after a couple days and I tried everything.  Got apple to replace phone, same issues.  I have had no issues with imessage or an exchange gmail account both of which work perfectly.  Tried the recovery mode restore, ditto.  One thing that has happened to me that I have not seen in many other posts is constant issues with slow response when I manually pull my messages from the server.  It can take up to 2-3 minutes to update (regardless of how I'm connected to the internet) and I quite regularly get the "cannot get mail" error message.  I have also NOT seen any push related items in the diagnostics on either phone, even though I have had dozens of times when the push was working ever so briefly, then it stopped.  All the fixes seem to restore it for a few minutes.  I have noticed that if it's working, as soon as my internet connection switches between any of the three sources (wi-fi/3g/4g) it breaks.

Here's a new one that I have not seen posted.  In the diagnostics I have seen several items related to Siri.  I don't understand all the junk in that screen, but the time and date of the latest one is when I was asleep.  I turned siri off this morning, and the push started to work.  I was on 4g for a bit, and have done a quick test toggling my wi-fi on and off, and the push seems to be working.

I'm wary of any of the fixes that have been posted here, as they all seem to work, then fail. Wondering if any of the of other frustrated folks out there have seen similar siri errors logged and if shutting it off has any impact?

    Very interesting!

I have not seen any push crashes either, but I have seen Siri crashes!

    Hmmmm.....

I may have spoke too soon. I updated my days to push and show settings as in the original message, and it worked when I rebooted. But I have received subsequent emails since and it is not working, so I'm back to square one.

    @squam1

Replacing the iPhone is not going to fix iOS 6 bugs. These are software bugs that Apple needs to fix ASAP. iOS 6 seems to be incredibally buggy.

Let me say this for the nth time - there is no user "fix" for this issue. You can replace the phone, reset, restore, go into DFU/recovery, turn every switch on or off, hold your breath, jump up and down, and spin around three times and push will work TEMPORARILY. You can do the same just restarting the phone. It will fail again within minutes, hours, or days. So please - don't be so quick to report your "fix".

So many folks are posting their strange series of things to claim to address this but to save everyone time and headache - the only fix for this is bug is going to come from Apple in an iOS update.

Frank, that might be your opinion but I'd have to disagree. I do not think everyone posting here has the same issue because I don't think that is the case.  However, in my specific case the symptoms were apsd crashes & imessages failing to send.  Reinstalling the iOS fixed it for me... permanately.  Could it have been the iOS image that was installed on my phone was bad? I am not going to speculate.  However, it's been 2 weeks & haven't had an issue since.  I recommended if someone is having the same issues that they do the same & I believe it has helped a few people.  I would just think if it was a bug in everyone's phone it would be a lot more widespread.

    Greg547,

Have you powered down and back up your phone since the reinstall?

    Yes, several times.

I have confirmed this issue on 10 iPhone 5 phones that we just activated after launch day. I'm surprised no fix is out yet.  This should be a top priority for Apple. Many corporations use iPhones and this needs to be fixed ASAP.

Greg547:  If you restart/reboot your iPhone or if you simply switch on/off airplane mode or if you simply turn off cellular, you will get a TEMPORARY fix.  As Frank said, there is no permanent fix.

This requires an iOS update from Apple.  If your issue is in fact permanently fixed (after 2 weeks or so of not rebooting or otherwise changing any settings), you may have had a different issues, not directly related to EAS push email.

You said you also had issues of iMessages failing to send.  That is not what this thread is about.  So you had something else going on and your "fix" is not the fix we are looking for.

As I feared, turning Siri off got the push working for an hour or two max.  But now it's failed again.

I am curious if others who are experiencing this very frustrating issue are also experiencing problems with pulling emails being slow, inconsistent and periodically not working at all?  And this issue for me is not driven by the type of connection -- experiencing all of the above randomly while on 3g/4g/wi-fi.

The temporary fix is to basically change the amount of recent message to eirher 200 Recent Messages or 500 Recent Messages.

Here is how to do that.

Go to Settings > mail, contacts, calendar,> scroll down to "Show" and change that to 200 or 500 recent messages. This will fix this. All other fixes are not real fixes.

    Thanks,
