In order to use the personal hotspot option, you must be using a supported carrier. The carrier must support that feature. You must subscribe to a data plan that permits tethering. And, last, but not least, the carrier must have your account properly provisioned for an iPhone.

Hi KiltedTim -
Thank you kindly for your reply.
Yes, I understand all this. My questions is specifically asking about which carriers in Spain support and allow these features. And I need to do this without contract, because I will only be in Spain for one month.

Movistar, Orange, and Vodafone all support the feature. Whether they support or will permit its use on a no-contract SIM is something you will have to ask them.

Hi KiltedTim -
OK that helps - they all support the feature, which I see on the Apple page I have already linked to.
And I realize I may have to "ask" these carriers, but I can't tell from their websites (Google translated). I am hoping someone in this community has direct knowledge of this question. Thanks.

Hi Peter - Thanks for the reply. I have been through all three carrier sites, and have not definitively found an answer to my question. I've been traveling for nine months now through ten countries, and I know that sometimes it just takes someone on the ground who speaks the language to help out on a question. So in this case, after three hours of searching sites and forums online, I was hoping someone from the Apple community has specific knowledge of my question. Cheers, Tyler
