iTunes cannot be installed on anything other than the OS drive which is always the C drive.

The library and media can be moved to another folder, but the user must do this seperately.

What exactly are the steps you took to "move" iTunes to the D drive?

So you did not actually do anything.

Uninstall iTunes, then install it properly based on the default selections.

Then move the ENTIRE iTunes folder.  This will move the iTunes library and media files.

Programs must be installed to the C drive to operate properly.  Fix that first.

In Edit > Preference > Advanced, change the library location to where you want to move the folder to.  This can also be done after moving the iTunes library.

    Then close iTunes.

Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from it's current location in C:\users\<user id>\Music to whatever location you want.

While holding <SHIFT> launch iTunes and continue holding until prompted to create or locate the iTunes library.

Select the option to location and point it to the new location where you previously copied the iTunes folder.

Then close iTunes and relaunch ensuring that everything is working.

You can now delete the original iTunes folder in C:\users\<user id>\Music
