Q: Installing 8yr old samsung ml-1410 on mac with OS X 10.8 ?
Hello,
(1) does anyone have an idea how to install the 8 year old Samsung ML-1410 laser printer when moving from PC to my new Mac ? Neither Samsung nor Apple offers driver for the old machine, even the recommended ML-1510 is not available anymore.
(2) I thought a generic postscript driver may do the job, but when I install the printer I don't find such driver software either. How to get such driver and how to install ... ?
Would be a pity to throw away the old laser printer just because of no driver available ...
Thanks for any hint

This printer should work with the open source drivers available from OpenPrinting.org. You can download Mac OS X package installers at http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/samsun g-gdi. Be sure to install all three packages -- Foomatic-RIP, Ghostscript, and samsung-gdi.
