Q: OSX 10.4 to 10.5 upgrade options

I have an Intel MacBook Pro with OSX 10.4.11 however the DVD drive does not  work. I want to upgrade this computer to 10.5 so I can backup to Time Capsule. I also have a MacBook with 10.6.8 that I'm hoping to be able to use as a source drive for updating the MacBook Pro (say, in target disc mode). What are my options for the 10.4 to 10.5 upgrade?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Insert the Mac OS X install DVD into the MacBook, connect the computers with a FireWire cable if possible, start the MacBook up with the T key held down, and perform the installation. If you don't have a retail Mac OS X 10.5 DVD lying around, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.

    Thanks for the help....

I've just tried that suggestion however when I went to start the installation on the MacBook Pro the Installer said "Mac OSX can not be installed on this computer".

The OSX Install DVD that was in the target disc computer is Mac OS version 10.5.6 2Z691-6317-A.

Do I need a different version OSX Install DVD, or is the MacBook Pro hardware (1.83Ghz Intel Core Duo) not compatible with OSX 10.5?

That isn't a retail DVD. See above.
