If the photos are all available in their correct location make sure the iPhoto preference to copy imported items to the iPhoto library is checked and use iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild your library

I just realized that since I have purchased Aperture, the consolidate masters command should work. Do I first copy the referenced files into Aperture, then apply this command?

Hi Larry (or whoever might know the answer!).
I don't want to but Aperture just to fix my 1/2 Ref 1/2 Managed library, and already own a copy of iPhoto Lib Manager (3.8.2).
I've made a duplicate of my Default but it's is also 1/2 ref 1/2 managed .. so I'm backed up which is nice .. but to go full Managed, do I just use the rebuld comand.. or will that rebuild what I already have.. again??

So.. I know have a shiney new managed library.
I also seem to have about 200 albums with nothing in them??? Odd
I think they might be duplicates though, so I've just deleted them.
The bit I can't work out though is why all my smart albums are now just normal albums..? I had loads of smart albums.. now even the default iPhoto ones (Flagged etc) are added as normal albums?!?

There seems to be some confusion in the website documentation over what iPhoto Library manager will do with Smart Albums.
"If you copy a smart album, a regular album will be created in the destination library containing the photos that were in the smart album at the time."
"Note that you cannot drag albums from iPhoto itself into iPhoto Library Manager - you must drag the albums from iPhoto Library Manager's own window in order to perform a copy. Also, only regular albums, folders, and smart albums can be copied between libraries. Copying “keepsake” items like calendars, books, and slideshows, or copying web galleries between libraries is not supported."
Smart albums will be recreated in the destination library with the same set of rules as in the original library. Exception: if you are copying between an iPhoto 9 library and a library of an earlier version of iPhoto, smart albums cannot be recreated when doing so."
Can anyone let me know what to expect and how to achieve it? I'm using the latest versions of all software.
