The URL is the clue: the mac.com domain was one of MobileMe's website hosting domains, and with the closure of MobileMe none of its hosting works, including the CalDAV server which was used by a number of subscription calendars - mostly third-party but also some Apple ones: you would think, wouldn't you, that at least Apple would be aware of this. In fact a few days ago, following a similar query, I went through about twenty randomly chosen calendars in Apple's list, and only two of them worked. Most of the rest were ical.mac.com ones (there were a few with other servers which had also gone dead).
These calendars are no longer available, and won't be until the authors wake up and find somewhere else to host them.

Thank you! First time anyone has explained what happened. I hope others that have this issue will see this thread!

And for others trying to pull these up on iCal on a Mac and then trying to share with iCloud, you'll find your other iOS devices completely throw up trying to pull them up and it causes the devices (iPads, iPhones) to have all kinds of wierd behaviours when trying to open the Calendar app on them using iCloud....turning iCloud back off for calendars fixed the weird behaviors. I'll try again now that I've removed these subscribed ical.mac.com calendars and see what happens.

Why would it? - it's the same thing. The server hosting these calendars is dead: the calendars won't be available until the authors find a new hosting service.

I just thought the've changed the names and let the servers live - rather naïve I see ,-( ,-)
