I have the exactly the same thing. I spoke with the AppleCare sr. Advisor Koda Watts on 9/28.

I am very disappointed that he said they didn't know this problem, can you belive that it has been release for one week and they didn't read this forum and also in the CNET? I pointed that there are a lot of people in the forum like me but he said that he has not found any complains. -by-lightning-literally/

He has a very rude manner and very impatience. He even said my English is sick that I felt very offensive since I have been In US for 15 years and got my master degree here and nobody such offensive to me . I never was treated like that from any tech support company from small to big. I am very surprise that it was from a sr. Advisor from prestigious Apple INC.

When the day I bought my Iphone 5, the Apple store sale was very push me to buy AppleCare. For my experience with their advisor, my opinion is that don't buy AppleCare that just waste your money and time and the people of AppleCare is not proper train.

Same problem here, twice.  Both mine and my wife's cables got stuck.  Luckily I had a set of these:

Insert one of the flatspudgers into the bottom side of the connector and pull both the spudger and cable out at the same time.  One of the ports I connected to required the use of two spudgers (one for each side) to get it to work.

Of course, you shouldn't need special tools to unplug a USB cable!

USB cable extensions can be easily found as a temporary solution.  Try searching for "short usb cable" in ebay or many other sites to locate something you can use.

Okay; anyone having a problem with the other end?  This weekend mine slipped down an eighth inch. It is supposed to be a strain relief not pull on the wire.  I fixed it with shrink tubing, but was surprised the this high cycle item was loose already

Bought a new Lexus CT200h which has a built in USB port, and plug in the iPhone5 cable and like everyone else it go stuck.

Used a plastic collar stay (from a dress shirt) to slip in between the plug and port to get it out safely.

Talked to AppleCare, first rep was unhelpful and didn't even understand the issue.  Second, supervisor rep was helpful and will escalate the issue to the design team.  Hopefully, we'll get a "fixed" replacement soon.

Called apple care and they are sending me a new one. But they charge you 20 bucks until you send the old one back. So we shall see what the new one brings.

Samething happened to me today. Stuck in my new car. After about 30 minutes, the needle nose plyers and side to side rocking got the USB loose. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I am posting this so that Apple  will notice all the posts and make this right.

    Plus d'ecran sur Iphone 5 !!!

Ca commence par des lignes verticale, ca passe du blanc au noir et puis plus rien.

Le telephone continue a fonctionner, mais sans la possibilité d'utiliser l'ecran.

Gor my iphone 5 2 days ago. First day i ended up breaking the usb port my work laptop becuase cable woundlt come out.

Then at home i reluctantly plugged it into my desktop computer and voila, its stuck there too. No way was i going to rip that port out. Called Apple, spoke to a rep who said they will send me a replacement cable and put a $31 hold my card till i send the old cable back. So im like OK? should i just cut the cable and send it back as im not going to have rip another usb port. I got put on a hold then i guess a senior afvisor came on the phone(sounded liked a much younger kid than the first rep). He said he will send me a new cable without requiring sending the old one back. Well thats good of Apple, Thanks but it still ***** to have gone through this mess.

Apple should do a redesign and swap cables for everyone before more people start breaking their computers.

Cables but until apple officially come out and hold there hands up and say yep we have f'ed up with the USB end of the cable.

You can keep purchasing another cable from apple they are all the same. The cable isn't a one off end. There all the same. Guys I think the best thing is.

Wait for the none genuine cables try will be perfect. I have 3 x apple cables all the same.

I am having the same problem in my car. I plugged in the USB cable and can't get it out. I have tried wiggling and pulling but can't get the cable out. Prior to using it in my car, I plugged it into my macbook pro and it needed a few wiggles but it always came out. Please Apple, fix it and replace our cables.
