Thanks. I really wish delete still worked though, that's been a shortcut for as long as I can remember, and it's just so darn conveinient, comparitively.

I put together a Safari extention a few weeks ago that does exactly this.
I called it BringBackDelete and you can find it at https://github.com/heardrwt/BringBackDelete

Command+<either left or right arrow> will also take you back and forward in Safari. I personally like this setup, but note that unlike Cmd+[, it does not work if your cursor is in a text field.
