You can report it to the police. Contact your Home Insurance Company - your phone may be covered. Why would you expect the manufacturer of any device to replace it if yours is stolen or otherwise lost, etc.

Well, then have her file a claim; she may need a copy of a police report to make a claim. I don't think you'll get your phone back, but they should pay so you can buy another.

It's a good idea to check the terms of your insurance first. Some companies will raise your rates as soon as you make any kind of claim, no matter how small, and the deductible may be so high that making a claim is not worthwhile.
Sorry for the loss of your phone. It's a huge pain, I know.
