Otherwise, why archive any old posts.. and not just have them be autodeleted after a month of no activity? Because well after the initial furvor of the post and replies are died down, the question is still relevant, and new information be become important and be added to the thread. So it isn't pointless to respond.
Scott did not say the OP asked without restoring, he said it is likely that the OP wanted to know if there was a less invasive way to calibrate than restoring. That would certainly have been a logical follow up question by the OP.
I've got an iPhone5S and touches on the right edge of the screen seem to not register properly (events don't fire) in several applications.
If an accepted way of resolving these issues is restoring indicates that the issue is in some software storage on the phone that cannot at present time, be set via configuation software, but it must be something at is set in the initial sofware load, that somehow gets out of whack with usage/installation of new software.
It certainly seems like there should be some software available just to reset the screen/touch calibration - or there is a bug in some iOS versions that gets it out of whack.
On the other hand, maybe there is no issue with calibration at all, but some other effect that makes uses think something is wrong.
In my case, I can use PhotoPen and draw lines all the way to both edges just fine, so in that app there appears no problem.
But using myFitness Pal, I'm finding that pressing a check-mark to edit a data entry on a form, doesn't seem to register the touch when I'm cliking on it immediately or after several touches.. not sure why. And in Candy Crush I also find that sliding some candy from the right edge over doesn't seem to work in many instances.
So maybe there is some flaw in touch/gesture recognition that is Xcode that is behind it, or the way some application developers are using the libraries in Xcode that is the problem.

Jan 28, 2014 5:06 PM in response to Minokby yunjy,I do face the exactly same problem on my 3 days old iphone 5s - touch not acked in the right edge (when using vertically).. and it is Candy Crush!! One important finding which leads me to believe it is a "software" issue is that the same sliding action in the right edge area works fine when using the phone horizontally.. The previous right edge where the sliding wasn't accepted becomes the bottom area and the sliding action there (close to bezel) works totally fine. Went to Apple shop asking this and the guy said he believes this would be fixed in coming versions of the software (either ios or the app itself). Eager to wait!

Jan 28, 2014 6:11 PM in response to yunjyby Minok,It does seem likely that there is a bug in some library for iOS7 xcode, or some standing assumption by some developers isn't correct anymore, and causes this issue in iOS7. Hoping the upcoming io OS update addresses it. It does seem to be app specific, but given that it happens in many apps, its a systemic problem, so the code that worked fine under iOS6/iPhone4s behaves differently in IOS7/iPhone5s. I don't know if its strictly the software, the taller screen but clearly something is not right in how some source code gets built in XCode. A libary bug or an mistake in a way much of the dev community implements certain things... though gestures like swipes are a standard library, so its more likely the orientation combined with the math that the apps do to determine where the swipe started that is broken.
