Duplicate the clip and put them one above the other on the timeline.
Correct the one for highlights (if required) and the other for darkness, then keyframe it's opacity to give a balanced correction overall.

When you've finished, it's a good idea to select both clips and press Option+G to make them into one Compound Clip in the timeline. That way they appear as one clip but can be opened up again for further editing if required.
