I think it varies from app to app. My Print n Share, for example, if I want to print an e-mail, I don't open the mail and hit print....I open print n share, then open my mail from within the app, then hit print.
If you have questions about a specific app, read the reviews. Often common issues are noted there. Or read the developer's site, and they may even have a contact link where you can ask them specific questions. they may also have a forum or such where you can search for issues specific to their app.

Skydiver, I've read the reviews on several apps and both Print n Share and Printer Pro look good. What I need to know is (since you have Print n Share)....I keep a lot of information in Productivity Apps like Notability and Bento and Notes...so can I just do a "Copy" of say, a paragraph in one of those programs (or any program) and save it to the Clipboard, then go to Print n Share and print it out from there? How does this work when I'm not printing an Email or Web page but just want to print a paragraph or two from an Application?

Skydiver, sorry to add another question before you answer the other one but can you tell me if Print n Share will:
1) let me print sheet music?
2) let me print Web pages, etc, in all black to save my colors just for photos?
3) let me "Select" a few paragraphs then "Copy" and then Print it?

Also....is it true that you can no longer use your Safari, iPhoto, and Apple Email if you use Print n Share? I just read that in one of the questions here. In other words, it looks like I'd have to use all my apps inside of Print n Share? Is this true that I can't use Safari, iPhoto, and Apple Email on my iPad anymore?

I think the best place for your questions is here
I just use it to print e-mails and the occasional webpage.
