it doesn't come natively to 10.8 but the service can be created in automator.

Then it is NOT a feature. Return to Snow Leopard, or else stop carrying on about a feature that doesn't exist. By the sounds of it, you will keep bouncing regardless, so there is no help on offer for you here, except giving you space to troll and tell everyone about how you will keep flaunting your spamming ways.

What is it that you hope to achieve here that no one else has in the past 18 months?

    Cheers

It was removed BUT there is a bounce feature that can be added to Lion and Mountain Lion.  I know because I have it and posted a link to it on this forum twice.  So any conversation about the Bounce feature in Lion/Mountain Lion is appropriate here.

You can add a hack to anything. That does not make it a native feature of the software. Bounce has been removed from Apple Mail for a reason. It just seems like a couple of people here just cannot manage to understand this simple fact. But carry on spamming if that is what gets you off.

I have an idea, why don't you refrain from clicking on this thread and being an unhelpful jerk? Your elitist attitude isn't helping anything, either. This thread was created when the feature was removed from Lion and has been helpful to some in creating a workaround so that those that found the feature useful can continue using it.

You've offered absolutely nothing of value to this thread other than negative posts telling people what idiots they are for bouncing mail. It's been explained to you several times how it can be used intelligently, but you fail to comprehend that. Do this forum a favor and unsubscribe from this thread.

Maybe you should take the hint and go away instead.

I agree with Chad and George. Nobody posted about it because they thought it was "a feature" currently in Lion; they posted about how to get LION, not Snow Leopard, to achieve the same results and we were able to find a workaround.

It is NOT SPAMMING, contrary to the liars who keep spamming this thread unhelpfully and rudely, to use BOUNCE PROPERLY.

Peter Mac is unable to comprehend the proper way to use bounce. You can use it to send back to someone who did NOT have his email address forged a message that is unwanted which the sender sent despite being asked to stop. That is a type of "spam" by a known sender where bounce is appropriate.

It is not a good idea to send it back to senders you do not know who may be forgery victims, which is the only type of bounce Peter Mac can imagine. On the other hand there can be reasons to do that too, and the point would be to give them a message of alerting them that their email address is becoming known for sending messages they might want to be aware of when you don't have time to explain it to them otherwise. Using it willy-nilly every time you get a spam would not be good but there are plenty of ways to use it properly.

The thread serves a purpose of reminding Apple why some of us still want it and to help those who want it in Lion find out how to get it; I was able to remember how to get it back because of this thread and it's now in my Lion version of Mail. I've used it twice this month, both time for known senders who were not forged addresses, political mail I'd asked to stop being sent.

Peter Mac and his buddies should stop heckling people who are trying to help each other. The thread would have ended by now if it weren't for this ego display and controlling behavior trying to spank people for finding a workaround and supporting each other. Peter Mac wants to control the entire forum. Perhaps he is the "reason" the Bounce was removed because of his limited ability to perceive other ways to use it than the single way he envisions everyone uses it every time. It is a useful addition to my Lion Mail and I'm glad for the workaround mentioned in the thread. I hope Apple adds it back and ignores the people bringing up negativism -- you could misuse ANY feature of Mail. You could repeatedly send mails etc etc. Too bad we can't Bounce known hecklers disrupting the thread.

Yes. Correct. It has not been a 'feature' since Snow Leopard, so you are preaching to the deaf.

I had already tried and it did not work - However what I meant to question - is should it?

    No.
