Ok guys... listen up!
Did you really think that Apple could pull this off without a hitch? Absolutely NOT!
iPhone 3G and 3GS had light leak issues...
iPhone 4 had antenna issues...
iPhone 4S had signal dropping issues...

iPhone 5 has scratches, nicks and scuffs out of box (not to mention light leaks again!)...

Did you really think iPhone 5 was going to be any different?
The list goes on and on! Time to give up on Apple and move on to another handset! When you continue to blow your money year after year and keep getting the same results... then you deserve it because you keep doing it to yourself!

"Windows phones suck from what I hear"
Spoken like a true ignoramus, but I don't blame Apple fanboys like you who literally worship the brand.
I like Apple products, but I change phones for fun and whatever appeals to my experimental fancies.

Should of been more specific, My friend who owns a windows phone says he doesnt like it and should of stuck it out with Apple. Im not by any means an Apple fanboy. iPhone is all i own that is Apple. I was just giving an opinion. But to each his own. If Windows is what you want then go for it.

That's the exact same problem I'm having but I'm in Teesside. Three referred me to apple. Apple won't swap it as its up to my Three store to do it as that is where it's purchased but got a case reference number and acknowledgement that my iphone 5 is faulty.
The three store got in touch with apple quoting the case number and then said the phone will be swapped once they get stock. Now for 3 weeks I've been ringing and popping into the three store but they seem to never have stock. I keep getting told no stock got delivered try again next week and its just annoying that I keep getting the run around.
All my three store keep saying is well the phone is useable so use it until we can swap it !!!!
It's just all a bad experience.

Yes, but it seems worse on the iPhone5 than the 4s. Odd.

Geez. I'm considering just going back to my old cell for now and just returning the iPhone 5 until Apple gets it together. After going through 3 iPhone 5's and finally finding one without dents. I get one that's rattling and then I just noticed that the phone also has the ghosting/flickering on the screen where the keyboard is when trying to enter password in itunes. I think it's time to throw in the towel. I'll either get on the S cycle or if I can't wait another year, just jump ship to an Android phone. I've never encountered so many issues with buying a device ever, until the iPhone 5.
Oh, Steve, you are sorely missed...

So I was at the Apple store and they got a new shipment. So I purchased a black unit. Out of box no nicks or scratches, but I did notice some scuffs on the bezel. On the back of the iPhone 5 near the camera where the bezel meets the glass, I could see paint missing in the interior. It was shinning silver!
I also noticed three small swirls on the back glass too. I returned the phone and told them it's still horrible. Anyone who says they got a 'flawless' iPhone 5 isn't examining it carefully as I can see all the blemishes immediately and instantly. Not one iPhone that I have opened or touched has been near perfect yet as Apple has described on the website!

This doesn't bode well for Apple. It totally rubbishes the promotional launch video and is a huge, huge embarrassment to management who were featured in it. Seeing all the scratch and scuff pics makes me think of the imitation phones that come from you-know-which-country. Truly disappointing that a cosmetic issue like this could escape Apple altogether, and I'm sure Foxconn knew the problem beforehand.

I'm sorry but I got a flawless white Iphone 5. I used a magnifier provided by the genious. It is like a jewelers magnifier with a built in light. I spent 10 or 15 minutes scanning every part of the phone as well as scanning it from maybe 8 or 12 inches away. No flaws!

Well folks, unfortunately I'm back. The replacement I received from Apple.com (in new retail box) that I thought was flawless unfortunately was not. It only had a small nick on it and I was fine with it, but after powering it up noticed that there was a problem with screen not being fitted or sealed correctly onto the main case. The bottom half of the phone (by the home button) would move if squeesed together. It appears that the glass is not sealed correctly to the frame. Additionanlly the home button rattles because of this. My wife says this specific iPhone feels like a fake iphone and it's noticably different from my original unit.
So I contacted Apple and they are thinking about what to do next. I'm leaning toward just returning both phones for a refund, then re-ordering in a couple weeks. Hopefully the new production improvements being talked about in the news will kick in.
Just my luck of the draw...

I just got a replacement iPhone 5 becaus of my battery issue. Now, this wasn't one of those in brown box with no accessories, but a brand new one they keep for AppleCare incidents.
My original iphone 5 was cosmetically flawless, but this one right out of the box had several small nicks near the charging port. The back plates were a little 'dirty' as if someone had used it and forgot to wipe them off well.
I just kept it, though... hoping the battery issue is gone and didn't want to go through another exchange procedure.

Hi I bought my iPhone 5 from Singapore Online Store. Nicks and scratches appeared on my phone as well! Anybody knows where can I go to claim for a replacement if possible?
