I should connect the cassette to my Mackie audio mixer (which is connected to my imac) and record it in a Logic audio channel. Then, you can post produce and improve the recording in Logic. I think this is the easiest way to do it.

Yes this is the way I know as well. I thought there might be an easier method though with some other application.

Ths isn't the "professional" way but I run the output of my RCA connectors on my cassette player to a converter to stereo minijack that goes into sound input. Then use a recording application such as Amadeus Pro (good but payware) or Audacity (free) to record.
