Oct 12, 2012 11:05 AM in response to Geert Goethalsby pvonk,I suspect that what you are doing is, when "activating" icloud, you are actually trying to create a new ID using the existing on. That's why you get the error you're getting.
Go to Settings>icloud and log into icloud using your existing ID and password.

Oct 12, 2012 11:33 AM in response to pvonkby Geert Goethals,Thanks for your response. Well, no, I log in using my existing account. It then shows the linked me.com mail and when i open these advanced settings, the mail address shows there, greyed out, so there's nothing incan change.

Oct 12, 2012 2:03 PM in response to Geert Goethalsby Roger Wilmut1,@icloud.com addresses are being rolled out over an unspecified period: you will get one without having to do anything, and it will be additional to your @me.com address. You will get a notification email when your account is updated (in theory). Please see this page:

It's possible the emails won't be sent out until everyone has been upgraded - my @icloud.com version works but I haven't had the email. You can check whether you've been upgraded by sending yourself a message to the @icloud.com version.
