It seems no way to do it . I have a problem using facetime and iMassage in Canada. I'm not able to change the mobile No. from the ex-telecommunication company in the middle east. I did a full reset to my mobile but it didn't work.

dont tell others to use your phone number. tell them to facetime or imessage you thru an email that you associate with those services in settings. it works the same way.
the phone number is set by your carrier, you cannot change it even for facetime.

The phone number that in the Ipad isn't even mine. If I'm IMing on my ipad I want the conversations to show up on my phone so I can access them from either device. It bugs me also that I can't edit MY info on MY device! Why can't I have access/control on MY Ipad?

Are you still using iOS 5.1.1? I suggest you back up your phone then update.

It was after I updated to iOS6 that it started this issue. I've done a complete restore and backed it up from my PC and it still has the same # attached.

The reason I asked was because you stated iOS 5.1.1 in your original post. Did your restore from a backup? If so, then restore as 'new'. During the restore process, on another device or computer, sign into appleid.apple.com. Verify that all info associated with your account is correct, including email addresses and phone numbers. Make sure to delete any duplicates.
Altenatively, you can sign into your account before the restore on your phone and change all the info.

The original poster to this thread (acjarolavsky) is on iOS.5. Iphone 4S. I'm having the same problem on my Ipad 2. I am already on iOS.6 though.

You cannot change the phone number, but you can associate an e-mail address with Facetime and messaging. Settings -> Facetime -> Caller Id, and Select your E-mail address. If you E-mail address is not listed under caller id, click add another E-mail address just above facetime. You can do the same thing under messaging options.
