Bummer Yniverse, that's exactly what Apple wants you to do, to "Just live with it..."
I went through 4 phones when I went White and am satisfied... not happy that I had to go through all that but satisfied. Though I hate that I have to live with the nagging thought that my white phone will get dings in it due to the soft aluminum and thin anodized coating. I never had to worry about any Apple products - now I do!

Hi I bought my iPhone 5 from Singapore Online Store. Nicks and scratches appeared on my phone as well! Anybody knows where can I go to claim for a replacement if possible?
That's a good question! I'm wondering the same!
I am living in italy, but I've had it ordered from the swiss online store because the price if far much cheaper, i have not received it yet but i am **** of a lot scared that i would receive the phone with scratch or any imperfections...
Do you have any idea who should i contact in that case? If i normally contact apple customer service by phone do i have to say that it's coming from swisserland? The warranty covers all europe. But maybe they would make problems because i'm in italy. I dunno.
Just hope that by the end of october when the shipping is supposed to happen, the problems would be solved by then... i hope...

Just got a case. Let's just say putting it on is worse than defusing a bomb. You know these things are built like **** when the process of putting on a case gets more scratches on the phone than not having a case at all! These cases aren't made of soft silky fur. They're made with hard rough plastic (with no rounded edges or anything like that, mind you). You are bound to get a few scuffs just putting one on. I got a clear case and it now looks like a window of scratches rather than a protective case. What a joke!

I'm on my 4th iphone5 black 32gb everyone has had marks on it,the replacement I got today is marked but only a bit near the antenna am I daft too consider keeping this 98% ok phone,I think my network think I'm playing games with them but this phone is gonna cost £700 shouldn't it be flawless..??? I think I would rather stick with my 4s which is still in top condition.. Got to say the 3 network have been good up to now..but if the whole batch have got damage due to problems at the Foxconn factory is it worth waiting to see if apple sorts this out...can't believe these have got threw inspection....

I have had 4 iPhone 5's now.
I am at my wits end. Have had to give apple my credit card details so they can send me a new one out. Got to wait four weeks!
This delay suggests to me that there are some changes hopefully taking place.

I am on replacement number 4. Two chunks out of the antenna and assorted dings. This phone is soft like butter. The genius at my last appointment said he would annotate my account so that I can receive a good iphone in the future when they get their act together.

This has got to be the worse Apple product launch in recent memory. I've basically encountered almost every known issue on the phone. Scruffs/Dents, Rattling sound, Keyboard ghosting/flickering. And today, after actually being able to play with the phone and using it moderately, My battery went from 100% to 5% in about 5 hours. Terrible.
I'm starting to feel like this is true:
More than likely returning this phone and going back to my ancient iPhone and seeing if there's improvement after some time, if not. Going to wait and get on the S cycle or abandon Apple phones altogether....

Apple - you suffer from "delusions of grandeur" and so does your latest iPhone. I have returned my "SCRAP"Phone and got my money back. Next time, I would wait for few weeks before I would invest my money on your new products.

I've just been to the Apple Store in Cambridge after booking a Genius Bar appointment. The wait was painfully long (especially since the air conditioning had broken and Saturdays are a nightmare in the shopping centre) but after looking at two different replacement iPhones (the first had two more blemishes than mine), the second one - the one I'm posting this with - is absolutely flawless! I have to say Apple, this design may be hard to get perfect, but this thing really is beautiful. I'll be examining this phone with a magnifying glass as soon as I get home, but to the naked eye it looks as though it just came from the warehouse! No camera rattling, no light bleeding, no loose buttons! I'm a happy customer now :)

Oh my god!
So there is one out there. I think you should be expecting a call from apple concerned as to how this has happened.
My guess would be that the guy responsible for QC is definitely up for employee of the month also!
It is a slither of light for the rest of us however.
Am made up for you. Enjoy and most importantly get a case on it QUICK!!!

Haha, don't worry jonchild, I've got my ZAGG InvisibleShield that's going on before the end of the day! Thank you ;) I think now its been a few weeks Apple have realised there are problems and have ramped up the standards (it's been all over the tech news). So just a another week or two and I think shiny new iPhones with no blemishes will be far and wide!

I am we'll acquainted with the goings on...
Am on my 4th iPhone awaiting my fifth!
However, big delay for fifth as have been asked to wait three to four weeks!
Tried the apple store route and kept getting duff phones so went direct to apple and it is with them now.
Out of curiosity does the zagg cover the antenna as well?

Sorry to hear that. I hope the one you're waiting for will be the last you wait for! The version I have (the HD version with a more glass-like surface) doesn't come with protection for the aluminium band, no. But the extreme coverage version, which is a couple of pounds cheaper, does.

I bought the iPhone 5 (32 G white AT&T version) on September 22 from an Apple Store in the US and found a couple of small nicks in the bezel when I opened the box at home. I went back to the store (thank God it's in walking distance) and exchanged for another one. The store employee opened the new box and we both noticed that there was a small nick, too! At that time I thought that I could live with it but the store emplyee suggested me call in 3 weeks to see if they had a good batch. The worse thing was that I found another nick at home and the sound of Voiceover was barely hearable. OK, I called today, made a reservation with the Genius Bar, and walked to the Apple Store to try my luck. Believe or not, this new one still got an obvious nick plus numerous tiny nicks (even worse than the previus one)! The store employee told me that this was the only new white phone in stock and there were no black phones either. Very disappointed, I returned the phone and restored phone service in the old iPhone 4. I loved Apple products and never had an issue like this. What a sad experience! I think I will have two options: 1) waite for one month or two to buy a perfect iPhone 5, or 2) waite for one year for iPhone 6!

Diabolical isn't it.
QC has gone right out of the window.
I am at my wits end to be honest as I have been through so many visits to the store s well as numerous phone calls to apple care and its as if nobody is taking you seriously at all.
Stick to your guns on this as I genuinely think that the process is changing and that much better units should come along shortly.
