My wifi was slow or out for 1st 10 days since upgraded. Thought they patched it because I was up and running for 3 days but now For the past 2 days I'm back to square 1. But low and behold I came across this article which claims to be a 100% fix to the problem.http://tabletcrunch.com/2012/09/27/fix-ios-6-wifi-problems/

I read that article and disagree with his "fix" of this issue.  His 100% fix is to make the entire world adapt to Apple's high standard of wifi security.  He said we must all adapt to Apple, not the other way around.  Totally worthless information if you ask me.

Nope...that does not work either. Actually the only fix is to reboot your iPad everytime it loses WiFi. This is what I have been doing and it is getting very old. Perhaps it was the reboot after you cleaned the safari cache that actually worked. The best way to test a fix is go to the App store and download something. It locks out my WiFi quicker than anything else. Usually I can cruise the web for a few hours before I hit a site that takes it down. I wish I could go back to iOS5. This is the last time I blindly download an update. Next time I will wait at least 60 days or more. Feels like my iPad turned into Windows Vista.

It was so strange! I walked into an apple store to ask for help with it and the rep acted as if he's never even come across this problem before. Then he took my phone and connected to the store wifi with no trouble and ever since then Ive had NO trouble at all. I didn't even have to unplug my home wifi. I say it's worth going to your local apple store. It took 30secs.

The frustrating thing is that it seems iOS 6 beta had a similar bug regarding security settings on their router this being last June.http://forums.macrumors.com/member.php?u=14599

Ok, I just did a test for this frustrating issue.

I went to the Starbucks near me with both my MacBook Air and my iPad 2. My iPad 2 connects to my Airport WiFi at home no problem since iOS6, but half the time it won't connect at Starbucks.

Tried just now: laptop connects; iPad does not. I tried the solution ("Clear History" and "Clear Cookies and Data" for Safari in Settings) indicated above for the first time just now: http://tabletcrunch.com/2012/09/27/fix-ios-6-wifi-problems/

It worked for me. But this is only one instance; I will continue to test at other locations over the coming days and I hope it works.

    Hi Kevin,

I have the Same problem, I couldn't connect to Starbucks wifi using my iPad2/3 or using my new iPhone 5. I went to apple an replaced the phone but the problem persists. The only time starbucks wifi connects to my iPhone or iPad after I reboot the device and it works for few times and then I have to reboot again.. This is a new feature in iOS 6.

I have a 3rd Generation iPad 32gb wifi only tablet that keeps dropping wifi.  I have tried different settings and another router.  It's sad that apple is so f'n big they automatically think we are all idiots and they could not have a software issue.  I have called apple support and they say there is no issue.  This is being handled wrong,  they should be taking your info, router specs,  what u have tried, and forwarding it on.  This problem didn't start till iOS 6. Well maybe they will wake up some day, stop taking everyone to court, and work on fixing issues with there products/software...

Unbelievable!  You are so right about them being too busy taking everyone to court.

I have same issue as DavidThreet  where with WPA2 Personal setting, my iPhone 4 will periodically drop the WIFI connection during active Facetime session.  I isolated the problem to iOS 6 as my gf has same model but is still running iOS5 and it works flawlessly on hers.

To add salt to injury, effing Apple does NOT allow one to go back to iOS5.

hey Apple: Clearly Steve Jobs was the brain of your company.  Now that he's gone you guy $**ks!!!!!!!!  You have totally lost my confidence (and looks like alot of others as well) in your product!   Better get your a$$ in gear otherwise that lofty stock price will evaporate leaving you as just another me-too company that releases buggy software.

You're right. Steve Jobs was Apple. He was kicked out by an incompetent board in 1985 who then begged him to return in 1996 to save them from virtual bankruptcy.

You'd think they would have learned something from that period and understood maintaining customer confidence is key.

Unfortunately the company is now driven by accountants and lawyers who seem destined to repeat mistakes of the past.

    Pity.

You are sooooo right David my iPad was working fine until the download.  I contacted an Apple store and was told that they did not know about any wifi loss issues.  I only purchased my pad in January  this year wish I could get a refund and I would purchase an Android tablet.   Any suggestions on what can be done to resolve this problem with Apple?

I am very glad I decided to change my iPhone  ths year to the Galaxy  S3  worked fom day 1 not a problem with picking up my wifi at home or any where  else my laptop  is picking up the signal.  If I want to connect on ipad I literally have to sit on top of the HUB.  My ipad looses connection each day at the same time early afternoon until around 10.00 pm.

It looks like the issue is with the iPad 2, iPhone 5 and 4S requiring IPv6 when upgrading to iOS 6.  That same hardware will run under IPv4 under IOS 5.  That is why the router firmware must be upgraded to IPv6.  Perhaps Apple will release a compatibility update for IOS 6 that permits IPv4 to work again.  They would be foolish not to do that.
