Hey everyone,

Mac mini purchased Sept 2012

2.5Ghz Intel Core i5

4GB Ram 1333Mhz DDR3

OS X Mountain Line Version 10.8.2

Audio has worked through both internal speaker and audio output jack (seperatly) since day one until now. But as of today, if I plug headphones in the audio remians playing through the internal speaker. I have treid alternate speakers/headphones, but audio always remains on internal speaker output. Also, just installed Mac USB Superdrive on same day (coincidence?)

Is this a software or hardware issue?

Anyone else experience this problem? Is this a one off or a bad batch of audio jacks out there?

Mac mini, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

    Hi ahill905

This does occassionally happen from time to time.  As you've suggested, I believe there may be a conflict which sometimes occurs - and when this does the Audio drivers appear to "die off".  A reboot will fix it 100% of the time.
