After reading all the comments, I feel better that it wasn't just me. As of now, my USB is stuck in my computer and no amount of pulling or wiggling is getting it out and I'm afraid if I pull too hard that it will break, and my laptop is fairly new. Apple, please fix this problem. The Iphone 5 is my first Iphone and everything was going great until this happened.

Let me just say that on the bright side, I am glad that I initially plugged the USB side of the lightning cable into the 2-prong power adapter and not into my desktop or laptop. (***** for you guys that put it into your car haha) And why are these cables so ridiculously priced...

Same thing here, USB end stuck in my car.  Had to pry like **** to get it out.  Never putting it back in until Apple offers a corrected replacement cable.  Hard to believe they haven't aknowledged this issue yet.  But I'm confident they will.

    ANSWER!!!!!

At least in my case.   My cable only gets stuck in my combo port, USA/SATA gets stuck.  Regular USB no problem!  My wireless mouse dongle will not fit in this port either.   Looks likes APPLES vendor used the wrong spec.  I have an HP notebook.

I too had my USB Lightning cable stuck in my  new Infiniti G37xS. Luckily, I went to the dealer and showed them that neither I nor my husband could pull it out. They finally got it out, but with great difficulty. They replaced the car's USB port, assuming it was an Infiniti part problem.. as did I. A week later I plugged it into my office desktop PC computer and couldn't remove it at the end of the day. Finally my office manager dissasembled the computer enough that I took the entire USB port and stuck cable into my apple store today. They had not seen this problem, but the genius gave me a new cord without any problem, and suggested strongly that I post the problem on the community board so that Apple would know about the problem. I will use the two prong electric outlet from now on and not try any other USB's until they replace these cords. I have two now, plus the one dangling from my computer USB that I carry around to amuse people who cannot believe my problem. Now that I have found this thread I feel a bit better that I am not crazy! Thanks for all the moral support!

We tried the plastic collar stay suggestion and after some manipulation and several tries, it worked! Thanks for offering this tip! Now the question will be, where is it safe to use this lightening cable. We just ordered http://Dual USB Car DC Charger Double Power Adapter for New iPhone 5 /iPad2/3 White ( 190725968208 )  and hope it works with the cord that was getting stuck. I will just leave it in my car and not try to move it anywhere.

My lightenting cable to usb got stuck in my gateway laptop. took forver to get it out with much frustration. called apple care and i believe they are replacing it for me. since i don't live near apple store the process of doing it over the phone/mail is quite frustrating. first they put a hold on my mastercard for 21$ which is the cost of a new lighteing cable, second the claim number they gave doesn't work.

I have the same thing with my new 4th Gen iPad. When I called support they said they've never heard of this issue. But, they are sending me another cable. It won't do me any good unless they change the design.

I'm wondering if putting a small dab of superglue into each of those two holes to build it up some would work?

So, I took my MacBook with the stuck in cable to Apple Store show those "Genius", they said "Wow, this is the first time I seen this". They try so many new cable, same problem, then I said that's enough, I don't want my USB port get damanged.

I think they trained to say that, they don't want recall so many cables, and they don't have a solution for that yet.

While I were waiting, I went play their iphone, ipad, search "lightning cable problem", and keep screen on that page, so people can see that, "Genius" can see that, too.

Finally, they gave me an extenation cable said "that's what they can do at this moment"

If I have this problem when my new IP5 arrives, I am going to put a drop of epoxy in each hole to fill, and maybe this will work.  I ordered my phone with three extra charging cables.  A shame they have not fixed this.

wow, another fiasco from Apple???  Plug-gate?

I struggled to pull out my cable from a us plug today and wondered why it was so painfully stiff.  In my computer, it isn't stiff though., slides nice in and out.

The usb box though, that baby takes some serious grappling to unplug.
