Hey, it's not necessary for T mobile to pick up any service, the sim card is only there to show an option that an at&t sim card blocks. Look at what I type on page 13 and follow the exact steps. I made mistakes the first 5 times until I got it on the 6th try.

Test this to make sure you are getting the tab: with the at&t go phone sim, go to settings, general, cellular. Now that page you should see "cellular data" and there should be an on/off option next to that, an enable 3G with on/off, data roaming with on/off, set up personal hotspot, and then itunes, passbook updates and reading list all with on/off options only.

Now try with the t mobile sim card go to settings, general, cellular. You should see everything I listed above with the at&t sim card but somewhere in the middle of that page there should be a "cellular data network" option. This option will not have an on/off option you just press it and it should bring you to a page where you can type in all the APN settings under the mms portion of the page however alexgophone also typed it under cellular data and internet tethering and it worked fine too. when this page pops up immediately take out your t mobile sim and pop in your at&t sim. while you at&t sim is in now type in all the settings since you are supposed to keep this page open when the t mobile sim was in your phone. I didn't have to turn off my phone or  restart anything.

Is your phone unlocked btw? Mine is an iphone 4 unlocked even though it was purchased from AT&T so it is an AT&T iphone... just unlocked.

So I have to have my iPhone unlocked to have the edited apn settings to work, correct?

I don't have a TMO sim card but I can edit the apn a different way, and if I used the settings you have provided it should work right?  I just need to know if my phone needs to be unlocked or not.

as holymacaroni92 said, you don't need it unlocked but this is something I can't confirm since mine was unlocked.

nevertheless, AT&T should be able to give you the unlock code, just request it and tell them you're going abroad so you need it unlocked. otherwise, threre's a couple of people who can sell you unlock code from ebay.

Some get some microSIM card adapter but I don't know if these are updated to work with IOS 6.

I would assume that the trick can also be done other than TMO SIM. Like other AT&T MNVO (Straighttalk, H2O wireless, Redpocket, etc.) SIM cards I supposed.

If you got the phone from them and still under contract (postpaid) you shouldn't.

Completely untrue. Unlocking your phone is completely legal.

Not so in the US. Only the carrier it's locked to can legally unlock.

This forum isn't to yell and dissuade anyone.  Everyone here has the same problem, MMS lets look at the 4,000 or so pages of replys and get a definite answer and just put an end to all this, Apple doesn't give a crap bout our GoPhone, Unlocked or Locked phones.  So lets just find the solution cause I'm tired of getting 20 emails a day of nothing but smack and crap!  Thank you!

Actually not true.  Apple and even more so AT&T DO care that iPhones are being used in unsupported and prohibited configurations, like GoPhone, and will do what it takes to discourage that use.  That's why MMS in GoPhone is "broken" in iOS 6.  Don't expect a "fix" from either.
